You should contact Faith then. If I recall correctly, she thinks that UFO's are demons, or related to demons in some way.

I think the big question is: who would win in a fight?
Seriously though, I've always thought that people seeing little green men, demons and angels had their start point in hypnopomic hallucinations and noctural panic attacks. At least Succubuses (succubi?) can be seen in the crushing weight people feel when awake but sleep paralysed. Once dim witted people start looking for answers their belief system provides 'answers' according to the 'rules' of said belief system. So an unpleasent experience in bed is either a demon (succubus) or and abduction and inevitable probing. But for someone to have both wacko belief systems would be a great deal of cognitive dissonance; no right minded person could hold two conflicting......oh, I see what I did there.

One aspect that I hadn't thought of is how we treat people who believe they have seen ufo's. Would we or do we treat them differently than someone who claims they aren't ufo's people see but demons? Whats the difference if any?

I think it is interesting that there seems to not only be an intersection of beliefs (ie. That ufo's exist but are really demons) but also that there is a suspension of disbelief that ufos are actually here or coming.
I'm surprised that I hear more about natural events being caused by a supernatural being than I do about ufo's being demons. Maybe there is a disonance I haven't recognized yet?

I think the appropriate response to either position is just laughter. Enjoy the story.

We investigate UFO reports for probable material causes. We investigate the people who report demons for psychological disorders. Maybe some people subconsciously equate the two in hope of being taken more seriously. One aspect that I hadn't thought of is how we treat people who believe they have seen ufo's. Would we or do we treat them differently than someone who claims they aren't ufo's people see but demons? Whats the difference if any? Life is like a Hot Wheels car. Sometimes it goes behind the couch and you can't find it.

I think the appropriate response to either position is just laughter. Enjoy the story. I do enjoy the stories, even the one about the demons. I guess I am just fascinated at what the mind can create, as well as this retro-belief that ufo's are not ufo's but demons. I don't think I could laugh at someone who believed they saw these things but question them about why they think they did. I am agnostic on the ufo's myself. I have never seen one and those that I have seen presented so far have usually been pretty fairly debunked (e.g. either faked, natural phenomenon mistaken as ufo's, or air/space craft of known origin). I would be ecstatic if I had the extraordinary evidence that showed a ufo or aliens. All the questions I'd want to ask any such visitor!

Faith did get in contact with me and did give me her viewpoint on the debate, thanks for the suggestion.

If I understand correctly, one of the views that Christains have about ufo's is that they are illusions or hallucinations (manifestations) of actual demons trying to influence people into believing what they see as real, in order for the people to worship the forementioned 'manifestations'. Along this similar vein are images of the Virgin Mary, 'Pagan' Gods, etc.

For some reason, I am not getting what you said. Are you saying Christians are more likely to believe in UFO's and demons or not? These christians, in particular, believe that UFO's are not aliens but rather demons that people are interpreting as UFO's. He's not talking about Christians, in general, but these specific ones with this belief. Which is a pretty kooky belief.

Humans are often inconsistent. I agree. Like there are some humans who are completely opposed to the possible existence of a God, but are very open to the possibility of UFO's.

Like there are some humans who are completely opposed to the possible existence of a God, but are very open to the possibility of UFO's. Everybody's a creationist about something. Unfortunately, belief in something on the basis of absolutely no good evidence at all, at the same time that you deny that you're doing that, is an all-too-human characteristic. There are some really funny examples, though. Atheists who believe in ghosts. (Dear, departed non-souls?) Christians who believe in aliens. (Who died for ET's sins? Jesus Crichton?) Bolder-dash, who rejects evolution but believes in mind reading. LOL!
