Re: bad stuff query
i don't get it either. the argument makes sense to me, and is quite on topic.

Adminnemooseus, General Discussion Of Moderation Procedures
Message 97.
i don't feel that "hey idiots" is an appropriate way for a moderator to conduct himself. further, it violates rule #10,
quote:
Always treat other members with respect. Argue the position, not the person. Avoid abusive, harassing and invasive behavior. Avoid needling, hectoring and goading tactics.
and, in an official capacity, no less.

i believe that in this case, either thread is probably appropriate.

not really a problem... yet
in my genesis 1:1 thread, ICANT is beginning to bring up his (clearly nonsensical) gap "theory" "interpretations" of creation as told in genesis. the topic is not how to interpret the text so much as it is how to read the text, and properly translate it. should that proper reading preclude (or mandate) certain interpretations, oh well. but those are not the focus of the discussion. this would, however, be an interesting idea for a new topic, but i think ICANT would have start it and present his exegesis/interpretations/whatever.
i do not wish to have this topic dragged away from the subject of translation.

birds and reptiles, or marsupials?
it seems the dominant trend in the birds and reptiles thread is about the origin of marsupial mammals, which has nothing to do with the topic, except that robert byers has the same ideas about both (and, presumably, any other groups of animals).
i would start a thread myself, but i don't think i adequately grasp precisely what robert's position actually is, so i think he should be the one to start a thread where he details what the position is.
