Counter-Intuitive Science

There are so many, especially the ones I saw as a kid. Anything from Prof. Julius Sumner Miller had me enthralled. But from my teenage years comes the enduring and possibly my favourite example. Prof. Carl Sagan in Cosmos explains the fourth spatial dimension. I should forget it, I can scarcely grasp the premises even now decades later.And also from university days, that a lungfish has physically much more DNA than a human.

I may know what you mean, it is as if you're standing in front of the TV with the winning lotto numbers on the bon in your hand. You're examining the probabilities associated with your being here; am I right?

Could it be that the sensor was aiming at the other side of the sliding doors? Was it that you were using the doors but not in the proper direction; an entrance for an exit or vice versa?
