pretty cool, you can just start it off and let it roll.
I'm stuck at 676,9 right now though ...

I have an exam tomorrow and plan on studying the whole night, so I'm gonna start 1 or 2 and see how it goes.
Still, 1044,6 is pretty impressive if you ask me. I got a couple successive ones that looked like motorcycles, but never got past 900. You start off with an inital concept or totally random beginning ?
AbE How many mutations per gen ? how many wheels ?

Re: Boxcar Willie
I agree, this hasn't helped my studying at all

I'm now at 1006,9, with great hope of going further since the hump that is stoping won't last long.
Main frame is just two sticks at an angle of about 150 degrees, with a single wheel at the back and a double wheel (single best mutation right here!) at the front.

I'm guessing two wheels can only get you so far, the double traction up front is definitely needed I think past 800
oh and I also put my max wheel to 8

Yeah well my two front wheels significantly overlap, so it just makes a two-wheeler with much more power in front.

Re: Baby Pictures
I don't know how much speed it has when getting to that hill, but you should hope to see it evolve a second front wheel (maybe higher max wheel ?)
I'm starting a new one right now.

Your at a critical junction of your evolution (say ... like the jump from unicellular to multicellular) so unless you want to wait a billions years worth of generation, I'd suggest a clean up

Re: Dr. A was at 1055.1
You can shut off the mutations by setting it to 0.
I think the trick when you get to a point of local maximum as Dr.A put it (and where you were at 1135.3) is maybe put a bigger mutation rate and hope for a lucky bounce

Re: I got to 1135.3 at 2:02 (and ran ~190 generations)
You gotta take 'default (random)' in the track options
just default won't do

Some pieces fall off now. You have a choice between two algorithms
