You mean "Faux News"? Wait, didn't they use that on The Simpsons?
Just the other day there was a commercial for a news channel that offers fair, impartial, and truthful coverage of politicial news. The commercial was for Fox News.

Re: Book: Liberal Media Distorts News Bias
What is that supposed to prove? That those news sources don't have a liberal bias?
You completely missed his point. He was talking about that "e-word" you despise so much: evidence.
IOW, if one wants to claim that ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, or NPR are "far left", then it is incumbent on one to provide examples to support that claim (AKA "evidence").
IOW, if you make a claim, you need to be able to back up that claim.
A simple concept, really, and one that you will encounter all the time in geology.

Re: Here's an example of media bias in coverage of the news ...
I am in no position to comment. I am not a country fan, but that they had expressed disapproval of an obvious Republican idiot should have had no effect on their career. Is there really such a right-wing, Republican-idiosy requirement in the country music scene?
However, I retired from about 34 years of military service in November 2011. A few months later, I visited my old unit as a retiree. The sentiment that I conveyed to my old CO, one which he obviously appreciated, was that I had received my retirement certificate and letter from President Barack Obama and not some fracking stupid Republican.
