What if I eat them after I put 60 bullets in them?

Soup...
Edit.
Good news, guys. I was out earlier today cleaning the pond. I managed to find a single small gold fish, thus proving once and for all the theory of evolution. This gold fish has been hiding in some tunnels I made for the fish. Progenies of this little guy will carry on the hiding gene and will survive the next heron onslaught.

Use a shotgun, steel shot, why risk lead poisoning.

I have no problem shooting pests. I am not sure how tasty a Heron would be. If you do shoot and eat one I would love to have a report.

Common Problem??
I see a bunch of videos of heron eating koi on youtube. Many of the comments include anecdotes about fixes for the problem.

Well woodcock and grouse don't taste like chicken. I don't really care for woodcock at all. They are fun to hunt though because of how they fly.

The breast meat tastes a bit like liver. I have heard the leg meat tastes like grouse but they are so small I have never taken the time to keep or cook the leg meat.
