In general parlance "choice" is an act of conscious volition.

So when my =IF(,,) constructions make the choices they do, is each one individually conscious, or are they just carrying out the will of the entire Excel sheet?

Does the word "decision" have more or less connotations with "free-will" than the word "choice"? I'm unsure myself.
