Quirks at "Climate Change Delusion" topic
The PNT indicates 3 total message, but no message 2 shown. Message 3 is the promotion message.
The promoted version has 2 message 1's, and no message 2. Message 3 is the promotion message, and the first message 1 is a copy of the promotion message, except it is attributed to "No Name Available".

Re: New Feature: Signature Enable
A "linked ID" snivel:
I changed the Adminnemooseus profile to make "signature on" the default.
I have been logging in as Adminnemooseus, thus I need to do the "toggle ID" thing (which I did for this message) in order to post as Minnemooseus. Toggling the ID does not toggle the "signature on" default to the Minnemooseus choice of the "signature off" default.

Time stamp tests
Test Post
Added by edit a minute or so later.
Added by edit - the explanation:
The time stamps for me are -
Message posted at 6:09 am, which is the US eastern time zone time.
Message edited at 5:11 am, which is the US central time zone time (my actual home time and the computers time).
My profile is set up to be the US eastern time zone (even though I'm actually in the central zone). Therefore the message post time is the eastern time zone time.
When doing the edit, however, the time stamp is apparently from your computers time setting.
That's how you can do an edit "earlier" than the original message posting time (I think).
Percy will probably know better.
By the way, I'm doing this edit at ~6:19 am eastern time. In preview, that is the time shown. But when I actually submit the edit, I bet it will show ~5:19 am.

Having problems getting photos to display and links to work
See here and the following two messages.
A few messages upthread (here) I'm having similar problems. The cat hairball photo at the end won't display, although the alternate links seems to work.
It's a "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't" sort of thing.
Firefox 19.0.2, Windows 7.
My Firefox has been flaky lately - Will lock up for a while, then start working. I suspect it has something to do with Flash Player, but I may be wrong.
Moose
Added by edit - I have the same problems with IE (9.0.etc), except at least a little box with a red x does show up. But with Firefox and IE, most of the photos do show up fine.
Here are the two problem images:
Three more problem images from my message here:
These are also not showing up in "preview" for me.
Added by another edit:
I cleared my cache and tried to delete the board cookies via the member profiles (did for both Minnemooseus and Adminnemooseus). It said I would need to log in again, but I didn't have to. Don't think the cookie clear thing is working correctly.
Edited by Minnemooseus, : Added by edit, also fix spelling error (keep spelling similar as "simular").
Edited by Minnemooseus, : "I'm", not "I've". - Also add images at end, which are NOT showing up for me in "preview".
Edited by Minnemooseus, : More problem images.

Forum seems to be running kind of slow
Slow responses in loading pages with occasional time-out problems. Currently about 11:30pm eastern time, although slowness have been happening earlier also.

Re: Forum seems to be running kind of slow
Anyone else having slowness problems? It might be something wacked with my computer. But other sites seems to work fine. Although I do seem to have problems with Shockwave Flash crashing a lot.

Specific message links not going to specific message
There are a variety of ways to link to a specific message.
Offhand, when I click on a mid or midt type link, things seem to work fine.
Other situations (alas I didn't note an example or two), the link results in going to the top of the relevant page, but not to the specified message.
Anyone else having this happen?

Re: Specific message links... - Also member rating request
I haven't been encountering any specific message links problems. I'm wondering if some combination of my computer and a bit flaky ISP might have been causing stalls at page top. It was indicated that the download was complete.
Anyway - What got me to this topic.
There is a hovermessage for the member rating number:
quote:
Member ratings are on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). They are a measure of a member\'s ability to draw votes for their messages over the past 90 days.'
I think it would be nice if it said something like:
quote:
Member ratings are on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). This member has drawn X votes for Y messages over the past 90 days.

I'd rather see the number of votes too. It's better to see that I got 10 cheers than to see that I got 1 cheer per 100 posts.
In the above, the "Y" was intended as being the number of messages in the last 90 days. In addition, it would be nice to see the number of those Y messages that were the messages that got votes:
quote:
Member ratings are on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). This member has drawn X votes in Z messages, and has had a total of Y messages over the past 90 days.
I think I've proposed this before, but again... It would be nice to have your like votes show up by the relevant message at your member message index.

Click and click to open in new tab differences
Here I have found that if you left click on the "reply to" message link at the top, the window changes to being at the desired spot.
If you, however, right click and choose "open in new tab", a new tab opens with the correct address in the browser address location, the display seemingly very briefly goes to the desired spot, but then ends up back at the message cited above. Same results for "open in new window".
Firefox, messages per page set to 30.

Re: Click and click to open in new tab differences
All of those open at the "desired spot" though I suppose that depends on what one desires.
For me, displaying 30 messages per page, the two messages are on the same page. I was at a reply, and was trying to open the message that was replied to in a new tab. I ended up at the reply, not the replied to. In the new tab I could then left click on the "reply to" link, and then go to the correct spot. Or I could just scroll up.
I haven't tested it, but I suspect this situation would not happen if the messages were on different pages.
What's [midt=number] and how does that differ from [mid=number]
[midt=748737]Here[/midt] results in
Here
[mid=748737] results in

Both links go to the same message.
See the "noparse" at dBCode help, to see how you can display raw dBCode.

Hey, the forum's been down for hours (again)
This seems to be happening a lot after midnight or so. Such was also the case the previous night.
Can get the homepage and some things from the homepage, but not the forum. I think it was a 503(?) server taking too long to respond.

"Happy Birthday" list incomplete
We have 15 spammers who claim Sept. 2, 1990 as their birthday.
We also have Omnivorous claiming Sept. 2 as his birthday.
We only have 10 listed in the "Happy Birthday" list.
What kind of crappy forum software is this?

Forum being slow
11:45 pm Eastern US time.
Has also been slow earlier this evening.
Indications, at least sometimes, are that the server has been contacted, but is then slow to return information.
Sometimes get "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable" messages.
Windows 7, Firefox.
