Re: Gerson Treatment
Perhaps you have info to apprise us on how they keep practicing if they are filching and killing the sheeple, using the Gerson methodology, as you allege.
You really find it difficult to understand why people faced with a terminal illness would spend money on treatments that don't work? Well, let me explain it - they don't know it doesn't work, in fact they're told that it does, and they figure the "chance" is worth taking.
You really find it unbelievable that people would spend money on ineffective treatments? Why, when people are going to psychic surgeons and having chelation treatments? And isn't that exactly what you think people are doing when they spend money on mainstream pharmaceuticals?
Buz, it seems pretty obvious - from both of our perspectives - that people will spend a lot of money on "cures" that may not be any such thing, or may even make you sicker. In fact you're on the record as believing that to be true about mainstream medicine. Why the sudden skepticism that people are being fleeced by the late Gerson?

Oh, yeah, I heard about this on a Radiolab podcast. There was this guy with terrible allergies, made worse by the fact that he worked in landscaping, and he tried everything with no effect - till one day, he hears about endoparasites, and travels to Cameroon to stomp around barefoot around the village latrines until he gets hookworm. Boom - allergies gone. The idea is that the parasites have their own immune modulators to survive in the human body, and that their presence gives the human immune system a real target so it stops being so sensitive to minor infections and allergens.
Apparently he moved to Canada and sells the hookworms online. Um, don't ask how he collects them. Trust me.
Anyway a hookworm infestation is pretty easily controlled if it goes wrong. Maybe worth a look?

You want me to list the evidence of efficacy that they have failed to provide?
Ok...here it is:

Do you have some objective evidence that the treatment does work?
(If you say "Yes" then please present it, else I will have to conclude that you don't have any evidence.)

Science and Diet
quote:
Stuff that has evidence and study behind them no diet mentioned
Our thyroids need iodine. Insufficient iodine in the diet can impact the thyroid, which in turn impacts a person's health. Many things in our environment and medical choices can impact the thyroid. A malfunctioning thyroid or a body that doesn't respond to the thyroid hormone can be overlooked. Cases can be from mild to very severe. See Broda O. Barnes research.
According to Dr. Mark Starr, some people who have thyroid hormone replacement still need iodine supplementation or detoxification of the body.
Dr. Mark Starr and Dr. Broda Barnes did have success in halting auto immune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus by treating the patients malfunctioning thyroid with desiccated thyroid.
quote:
So how do scientists treat autoimmune desieases ????? Diet that boosts the immunesystem????
Doctors treat auto immune diseases, not scientists. There are various kinds of immunosuppressive drugs, but diet still plays a part in the persons health. We have to eat.
Autoimmune Disease: Diet
For patients diagnosed with autoimmune disease, the most reliable treatment is suppressing the immune system in such a way that it stops attacking the body's cells and tissues. This can be achieved with immunosuppressive medications. Also, depending upon the autoimmune disease symptoms, the doctor may prescribe other therapeutic drugs for alleviating the painful signs. In addition, keeping yourself healthy and energized with good foods is a part of the treatment. This is where, autoimmune disease diet comes to the picture. Dietary guidelines for patients diagnosed with this hereditary condition are explained below. ...
By now, you might have understood how autoimmune disease and diet are related to each other. The objective for following autoimmune disease diet is to maintain a healthy body and support the impaired immune system in managing the disease symptoms. In other words, a healthy diet with lots of anti-inflammatory and non-allergenic food items is beneficial for clinical improvement and speedy recovery of the patients.
Proper nutrition can be part of a treatment program. It isn't an all or nothing issue. Ultimately we should always need proper nutrition, but sometimes we need drugs for added help. Depends on the disease and the person.
There are foods and drugs that can adversely impact the thyroid as well as help the thyroid. It is best to know which ones are good and which are not. A diet that works well for one person, may not work as well for another. The same with drugs and treatments.
One size doesn't necessarily fit all. It can get a bit tricky trying to find the right combination.
So you really can't say that nutrition is not part of an autoimmune disease treatment. There are too many variables. Depends on the person and the disease.

Yea but nutrition is not focused to increase the immune response just to try and correct the response.

Boosting the immune system doesn't mean increasing the immune response. Boost just means to help or support.
Fortunately for advertisers it can be taken either way.

Re: Gerson Treatment
What is your evidence for this claim? What in the reporter's book can you rebut with evidence?
You notice that the journalist himself died of cancer?
But really the burden of proof lies on the person who claims that he can cure cancer. All he has to do is show it by publishing proper scientific research, rather than puff-pieces written by anonymous journalists. And anyone who could really cure cancer would want to do just that.
As for killing them, that's well-documented. See the Center For Disease Control's publication Campylobacter sepsis associated with "nutritional therapy". It turns out that making people drink raw liver smoothies isn't always such a good idea.
I see there's an operating Gerson Institute in San Diego.
Perhaps you have info to apprise us on how they keep practicing if they are filching and killing the sheeple, using the Gerson methodology, as you allege
There's a sucker born every minute.
I note that there are one-and-a-half billion Muslims, how does that keep going? Is it really because they all really get to go to Paradise, or can you think of some other explanation?
