I'm in favor of a United Nations Flag sculpture construction. This wasn't just the worst terrorist attack on USA citizens - many countries also had their worst day. Something over 85 countries. I was really pissed off that I could not find a UN flag and had to settle for an American flag.
Forgive me for not honoring & paying respects to the World in those days...i could have done it with a little more effort.- xongsmith, 5.7d Basically bluegenes is asking us to accept the LEAST SCIENTIFIC DATA KNOWN TO MANKIND to support his theory. I call bullshit.

Nuggin earlier wrote:
The fact that SOME of the rescuers and SOME of the public seem to think that Jesus supported the attacks ignores the Buddhists who died who honestly wouldn't want to be buried under a cross whether it was one that was supposedly for or against terrorism. And here he writes again:
I think the implication of admitting that is admitting the Jesus was either responsible for, or at the very least complacent in, the attacks. If he had the power to put the cross in the building during construction in anticipation, or awareness to change existing materials during the attack, then surely he could have warned someone to try and stop it. Now...at first I kinda chuckled at this line of argument. But now I feel that I have to call Nuggin out for going over the line of reality and putting thoughts in those of the Christian persuasion when they had NO SUCH THOUGHTS. I have marked some good points that Nuggin makes in this thread in my opinion. But I also have to give him a bad mark or 2 over this hyperbole. IMHO.....- xongsmith, 5.7d

This weirdly struck me as having the vibes of the opening scenes of Jurassic Park...there will probably be a little theater with a film loop and schedule and a hefty admission price.... Would this not solve the problem? Wow, would it. It would be a bigger move in all ways. Rrhain has also argued this.- xongsmith, 5.7d

Nuggin says:
The problem is that Christians like to make claims but as a group consistently fail to think through the implications of their claims. Exactly - they are not thinking that Jesus meant to condone the killing of some 3000 people. They don't connect the dots, they don't think things through logically. If they did, they'd drop the belief. For them the logical connection you describe has no bearing on the issue at all. You are asking them to do something they cannot do. It would be easier for them to imagine a Devil at war with God and Jesus. Some of them might claim that it was the Devil who did the evil deed and Jesus was only able to get his magic T in place at the end whilst waging battles elsewhere around the universe and that this was but one battle.- xongsmith, 5.7d

I hope the museum has the famous crushed firetruck...those firefighters should get prominent recognition. Maybe also that jet engine that landed almost a block away.
The rescuers should indeed get a big display - shoot, I wrote a whole song about them - but the "cross" should have stayed with the church to make it a powerful draw to join that church. Oh well.... On another note, the 10-year anniversary is almost here and I still haven't purchased a United Nations Flag to display for this. ![]() - xongsmith, 5.7d

F&L asks:
I wrote a whole song about them Care to share? I would like to see the lyrics, maybe you could offer it to the WTC memorial. If you are so inclined then it might lend itself to a poem? It's not one of my best, and the last verse would I leave off because it's kind of sappy (music missing here): Another Human Herocopyright 2001 Nathan A.Smith a shell of framework in the dustreaches upward in one last thrust in one last anguished cry to cling on to the sky. and down in the smoke below the blue, working slowly, searching through the wreckage, as he fights off sleep, seeking heroes beneath his feet, you can see another hero... you can see another hero... you can see another hero ...at Ground Zero. but he sees no one in the dust.he sees no one & yet he must keep on with all his might, through the day & through the night, until another takes his place & he can finally wipe his face & lie down & get some sleep - then he's right back up on his feet. he's another human hero... he's another human hero... he's another human hero ...at Ground Zero. there's not a single sound in the dust.even the air itself is crushed. it burns into her eyes. it chokes her throat when she cries, but she never plans to stop. she pushes on until she drops into another shift of sleep - then she's right back up on her feet. she's another human hero... she's another human hero... she's another human hero ...at Ground Zero. the framework standing in the dustcuts down our spirit, dims our trust in this world that would be free, made for you & you & you & me - a world these madmen cannot win. our dreams are shining from within and now we're rising from our sleep we're standing tall, on our feet for every human hero... for all the world's heroes... at all the world's Ground Zeroes... we're standing tall for the heroes... and we salute all the heroes... at every Ground Zero.... -29sep2001- xongsmith, 5.7d

Artemis suggests:
i think it looks like a penis This has of course been bandied about since it's conception (so to speak). The Washington Monument's shape was the contest winner for design and all entrants of note were MEN. When it came to the Vietnam Memorial contest, equal rights had advanced far enough to include women and, sure enough, this time a woman won. What did the USA get this time? ...a V-shaped cleft into the ground. Curious indeed.- xongsmith, 5.7d
