Speaking of Tom Waits he seems to be shamefully absent from this thread.

It seems to be only obvious to you and your fellow travelers here. It is one of philosophical difference that makes me stick out like a sore thumb here. I believe people have a right to earn however much they want to and that it is none of our business what they do with that money. You obviously hate the fact that someone owns a mansion and a pool and I could care less.

I enjoy the guitar and so I find that the guitar played really well moves me. Here is a video of Tommy Emmanuel, who may be about as good as there is. (Who would have thought anything this good could come out of Oz. )
Sorry I only know how to post the link. It starts off slow then picks up as it goes.

I am not the one who brought up corporate music. I wanted to know why onifre felt that way and what he meant by it. He explained it and I told him why metallica had a right to be that way. If you are going to complain to me about being offtopic then share that blame with everyone who keeps arguing the point with me.

GFY....
Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' ― Isaac Asimov "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. I never really got him until I watched 'Down By Law'. There was a scene where he (at least I think it was his character, it's been a few years) was shambling down a street in New Orleans and the music and the city and the character just clicked and suddenly it all made sense.

How can music be corporate? What does that even mean? Its when they care more about making money than they do about making music. They stop being artists and start being salesmen.
