Ok, let's assume first that you will actually have a discussion about this. Next, let's assume all of what you said is true. We allow the possibility that some god character started the big bang. What's next? How does this assertion help us learn anything about the universe? What can we learn about anything by saying "some god character caused the big bang."?
Therefore, based on current science it is quite reasonable to believe in the existence of creator God or universe Designer.
Well, that depends. What, exactly, did this creator god create? If you accept current cosmology, and you also posit that this god character created humans, you have to also accept that he sat on his ass for 13.7 billion years doing nothing.

Re: Reply to Hooah212002
but it is too early to answer them at this point.
So you want soooo bad to allow the option for a god, but you have no clue to what end? You have no clue what we would do with that information? You have no clue how that would advance our understanding of anything?

"I'll get back to you" in IDist speak is "I don't have an answer for that question" or "I have no clue". Every single time a Cdesign propontist says "I'll get back to you on that", they never do.

Re: Reply to Dirk
Do you see how the standard cosmology of the big bang supports the idea of a creator God or Designer of the universe?
You keep saying "supports", but have yet to show that. I think the word you are looking for is "allow" because, let's face it, it would be intellectually dishonest for anyone to absolutely rule out His Noodley Holiness as the Big Banger.

Re: Reply to Dirk
Living things are more complex than non-living things (by a LOT!).
That depends on how you define complexity (don't worry, cdesign propontists better than yourself have yet to do so). I'd say the a gas nebula is far more complex than myself because I know I can't create fucking stars and planets, no matter how many research grants I get.

Summation from a relative non-participant
This thread is no different than any other thread that is started by a cdesign propntist claiming to have evidence. Whenever the evidence is not found where the IDist claims it is, they claim "no, not here, over there" and on and on.
Secondly, I will say that designtheorist got shit-hammered by a lot of posters in a limited time and it was assuredly a daunting task to keep up with that many people. However, when you spout as much unsubstantiated bullshit as he did, it is to be expected given the level of discourse typically found here at EvC.
This thread/topic showed promise so hopefully designtheorist sticks around to learn a thing or two.
