Yes but I do not understand arties point. Maybe I am dense? Is he saying there are no poisonous snakes in the woods? Or is there some subtlety I am missing?

Technically, snakes are venemous, not poisonous. Poison is ingested while venom is injected.
I said that if enough people call a bison a buffalo, then its a buffalo. He responded that I probably call snakes poisonous too (suggesting another technically incorrect word usage I might have).
The word "poison" has a broader meaning outside of biology though, i.e. "a substance that hurts you", so it depends on just how pedantic you want to be about it. Venom could be considered a type of poison.

Well at least there is one person who understands. yes, Catholic Scientist understood what I was saying 100%.
+1 for two conservatives arguing vernacular names of things
+0 for libtards reading and trying to understand simple concepts in the english language.
what a bunch of ignorant people there are on here.

Re: Google of "poisonous snake in woods"
As Dr Adequate pointed out you are wrong on the pedantic point also.
quote:
There are, however, two exceptions: Rhabdophis sequesters toxins from the toads it eats, then secretes them from nuchal glands to ward off predators, and a small population of garter snakes in Oregon retains enough toxin in their liver from the newts they eat to be effectively poisonous to small local predators (such as crows and foxes).

.....ummmmm, no.
we talk about all this yesterday. try and keep up ok? I know its hard for you.
Dr. adequate was not pointing how how my statement was wrong.
Is English your second language or something (I would accept Frako in this circumstance)?
you are trying so hard to grab straws because you want me to be wrong so bad, and you come off as EXTREMELY SAD.

I think the topic wrapped itself up two weeks ago. This was not one of our more informative threads.
I think my forum signature summarizes it pretty well:

Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Summary: Southern baptists handle scary poisonous snakes, or something. In other news, people act like jerks on the internet.
