Re: Proof of God
That has to be a really fun fantasy. Like, no matter what any of us heathens say to you, you can just sit there in your chair and rub your hands and just dream about our ultimate humiliation and destruction at the hands of your death god.
I mean, I wish there was a similar pleasure for atheists, but the problem with there being no afterlife is that there's no way to experience being wrong about the existence of the afterlife.

Re: Proof of God
Atheists can enjoy a Garden of Earthly Delights free of the shadows of sin, guilt, and damnation.
What makes you think atheists don't feel guilt? I feel guilt all the time. Just because sin doesn't exist, doesn't mean our actions have consequences; and like a reasonable person, when I exchange short-term pleasure for a long-term benefit - or, worse, hurt someone out of selfish gratification - I feel guilty about it.
I mean, I do take a fair bit of pleasure out of freely and guiltlessly doing things I know the religionists fear to do. That's fun. But I don't imagine it's as universal a pleasure as salivating over the thought of your enemies getting their just eternal punishment. I mean, that never gets old. But there's only so much sin I can sin.

Re: Proof of God
Your tone is pretty clear. "By then it will be too late," etc. And in the past you've described how you're anxious for God's judgement on our society.
You can deny it if you like; I rather suspected you would. But it's pretty obvious from your posts.

Re: Proof of God
I asked God, out of my own free will, if he would do so. And he did.
I repeated your experiment but was unable to duplicate your results. Can you explain?

Re: Proof of God
Get the picture Crash? There are many ways to ask. It is reasonable to suppose not all ways of asking will result in the desired response
Apparently you didn't understand. I repeated your experiment. In other words, I asked the same way you did.
But I couldn't reproduce your results. So, can you explain?

Re: Proof of God
Are you talking about a form of words? Or are you talking about the heart behind them?
You said you asked without believing.
I'm duplicating the same procedure. But I can't seem to replicate your results. Again, can you explain?
If you find yourself wanting him but he isn't coming then assume that its something up with you, something you need to learn.
Let me offer you the same advice. If you find yourself wanting him and he does come, assume that there's something up with you, something you need to learn about what is real and what is just your imagination.
Like I said, I've duplicated your experimental methods, to the letter, but can't seem to replicate your results. Telling me "oh, there's something you didn't do" isn't an answer to that because I've done everything you've done; believed everything you've believed; had the exact same attitude you did.
But no results. Can you explain, or not?

Re: Proof of God
Pray tell how you figure that Crash. Like have you a meter reading for it for us to compare?
You've been talking about your attitude the whole time, here, and in other threads. And what you're describing is the attitude that I had, too.
Unless you're not being truthful with us? I can't read your mind, no. But I can read your posts, and if the attitudes you're describing aren't what you actually felt, then what are you doing, exactly?

You'd know all about namecalling, wouldn't you? You're a veritable expert at it.

Re: God's game
I know your excuse, and your endless vendetta, but there is no reason whatever on this thread for your attitude.
I guess I'd like to know how you excuse your holier-than-thou attitude, given that you had called your opponent some very uncharitable names in the post preceeding his. It doesn't seem to me that you have any basis at all to pretend like you're the innocent victim, or that he wasn't responding in kind to yet another example of your vicious insults.

Re: God's game
What are you talking about?
I'm talking about where you called him "ignorant" and "arrogant." That's name-calling. Or do you deny that you made those posts?
You seem to have a very short memory indeed for the slanders you so casually toss about. How very Christian of you, I suppose.

Re: God's game
My point has been to show that "two can play that game."
Uh-huh. See, the funny thing about sinking to your opponent's level is that it makes you look pretty stupid when you try to take the moral high road, too.
I say "sinking", but, of course, you've been down there all along. There's not a single thread you can participate in that doesn't devolve into a name-calling match, or one of your spectacular eruptions of invective. I suspect we're in for one here, any time now.

Re: God's game
But I'd point out about threads that deteriorate into namecalling that it is an interesting fact that YOU are on them.
I take it as a compliment that my arguments are generally so airtight that my opponents have no resort but invective to try to get a rise out of me.

Re: God's game
And as I pointed out to you all your statements "just show that you reject" God, who has 4000 years of recorded eyewitness evidence.
There is no eyewitness evidence. Only fabrications of evidence; and, in many cases, outright fabrication of the witness ("I know a guy who saw Jesus.")
