Not gonna happen, if they stopped jumping to conclusions this would have been over pages ago. It's not "jumping to conclusions" when people say things and you believe them.

ooh-child writes: Is this discussion (getting into) hypothetical territory, or has anyone actually experienced having their hair cut against their will in high school?Has anyone seen this kind of action at any point in school? Sort of. One guy held my arms while another put gum in my hair (which forced me to cut it later). I head butted the guy behind me (the back of my head into his face), and punched the gummer right in the nose. The gummer stopped laughing immediately, and when he went to say something else I punched him in the mouth. The holder got a bloody lip and tapped out by this time, and it was me one on one with me punching a dude who though I was a defenseless punk. I had to go to the principal’s office, and I was told how bad fighting was. I said I defended myself, I still got suspended (we all did), but my parents were totally cool with me defending myself against two dudes.
BTW - this did happen to a sophomore with whom I went to school. He went home & killed himself. No one was charged with anything. Boo hoo. I was bullied for years, but I aint weak sauce. Y’all can’t fade me.

far from the truth as ever.
Dr. Semantics rocks. I just call a spade a spade or in this case a bitch a bitch. I can guarantee he takes nothing serious from me nor I from him, this is just a fun flamesite for nerdy dudes like ourselves. I like Dr. A; besides Theodoric, the dark alley is where I meet with your mom, I wouldn't have Dr. Adequate inferring with my time with your lovely mother.

Listen asshole. For your information my mother recently passed away due to cancer. It was long and painful.
You think you are funny. You are a vile piece of excrement. Comments about violating someones mother are not funny and are despicable. They have no place in this forum or any other forum. I sure hope admin comes down hard on you. You are nothing but a troll that is here, by your own admission, to do nothing but inflame people. Your behaviour does nothing but make a mockery of the religion you claim to profess.Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

Except for those with an established history we don't suspend without warning, and we don't suspend because someone is unpopular. But becoming personal is clearly against the Forum Guidelines, and posting messages that don't touch even lightly on the topic is clearly against the Forum Guidelines. We're not nit-pickers here, you have to be pretty persistent, but without mentioning any names I do see some evidence of considerable persistence at being personal and off-topic when the whole body of work at EvC Forum is considered.
So consider this an alert to the possibility that there is at least one participant in this thread who is on the threshold of suspension if there are any more personal or off-topic messages.

Why not just mention AE by name? When did AE ever contribute to discussions on EvC? Is it not true that a huge amount of his posts are nothing but personal attacks? Why is he still here? You have the damn ban hammer. This is one of the most well moderated forums i have come across, i dont get why you still allow obvious trolls like AE here. He even said it himself, he is not here because he is interested is creationism or evolution, he just enjoys trolling the forum. {Wrong place - Go to General Discussion Of Moderation Procedures (aka 'The Whine List') - Adminnemooseus} Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Hide content etc.

With the caveat that this has not seen mainstream coverage (for what thats worth)
Did Young Mitt Romney Impersonate A Police Officer? Another Witness Says Yes - National Memo
When Mitt Romney was a college freshman, he told fellow residents of his Stanford University dormitory that he sometimes disguised himself as a police officer - a crime in many states, including Michigan and California, where he then lived. And he had the uniform on display as proof. So recalls Robin Madden, who had also just arrived as a freshman, the startling incident began when Romney called him and two or three other residents into his room, saying, "Come up, I want to show you something." When they entered Romney's room, "and laid out on his bed was a Michigan State Trooper's uniform." ... Phillip Maxwell, a prep school buddy, told the New Republic in 2008 that Romney had pulled over students from a girls school next door to Cranbrook while wearing a police uniform as a prank. Other former classmates described Mitt as a "happy-go-lucky guy known less for his achievements and more for his pranks." In The Real Romney, a biography published by Boston Globe reporters Michael Kranish and Scott Helman this year, another former friend recalled how Romney had "put a siren on top of his car and chased two of his friends who were driving around with their dates." The two friends were in on the scheme, but the girls were not. There was beer in the car trunk, according to a prearranged plan. Mitt told his two counterparts to get out of their vehicle and into his car. Then they drove off, leaving the girls behind. "It was a terrible thing to do," said one of his accomplices, a Cranbrook classmate named Graham McDonald. Assuming this is true, when are we allowed to come to the conclusion that this guy has a character problem? Or is this still too long ago to "count"?BUT if objects for gratitude and admiration are our desire, do they not present themselves every hour to our eyes? Do we not see a fair creation prepared to receive us the instant we are born --a world furnished to our hands, that cost us nothing? Is it we that light up the sun; that pour down the rain; and fill the earth with abundance? Whether we sleep or wake, the vast machinery of the universe still goes on. Are these things, and the blessings they indicate in future, nothing to, us? Can our gross feelings be excited by no other subjects than tragedy and suicide? Or is the gloomy pride of man become so intolerable, that nothing can flatter it but a sacrifice of the Creator? --Thomas Paine

Someone has a character problem all right.
But it isn't Romney.

Romney, a product of his up bringing, is hopelessly out of touch with the way the world works for average folks.
You hear it in the way he talks (aircraft? chambermaid? 'maaavelous'?), you see it in his actions (it never occurs to him that he could be held accountable), you read about his wealthy hobbies (dressage?). He's incapable of connecting with the regulars & riff-raff of everyday life. Very off-putting, for my tastes.

Someone has a character problem all right. But it isn't Romney. Quite so. Romney merely broke the law for no purpose except to cause distress to others. If that was a character flaw, we'd have to suppose that there was also something wrong with being a sadistic serial killer --- an obvious reductio ad absurdum. But some people have informed you that this is what Romney has done. Some have even suggested that it puts him in a bad light. This is despicable behavior. Even that most lowly of criminals, a district attorney, only degrades himself in this way because he is paid to; the man who would do it for free clearly has some sort of personality disorder, though one that has so far eluded the compilers of the DSM. You're right. We should also include people who have nothing to add to the discussion except meaningless insults.

Or is this still too long ago to "count"? Yes. What you did in college is not your character today.
