Well, we seem to be running out of places to discuss this, 'cos of thread closure, and I promised that I'd start a thread like this, so this seems to be the perfect time.
So, here we are again.
In the blue corner we have Barack Obama, a Secret Muslim Communist!!! who used his time machine to Destroy The American Economy!!!, who Wants The Terrorists To Win!!! but occasionally has some of them shot by accident, who has Raised Our Taxes!!! by lowering them, and who has Taken Away Our Freedoms!!! in some way that we can't actually specify. And most damning of all, he Concealed His Birth Certificate!!! by showing it to the media.
In the red corner we have Mitt Romney, a guy who has real faults that weren't invented by crazy people.

Things Paul Ryan Doesn't Know
Apparently, which direction time goes in.
Paul Ryan slammed President Obama on Thursday for failing to rescue an auto factory in his Wisconsin district one that closed in 2008, under President George W. Bush.
Have we found the new Sarah Palin?

Leader Of "Non-Partisan Group" Turns Out To Have Been Driven Insane By Partisanship
The leader of Swift Boat Retards For Being Halfwits or whatever they call themselves manages to make Buzsaw look well-adjusted ... well, OK, not quite, but who could?
"I have to admit that I'm a Birther," said SOS founder Larry Bailey, a retired 27-year veteran of the Navy SEALs, in an interview. "If there were a jury of 12 good men and women and the evidence were placed before them, there would be absolutely no question Barack Obama was not born where he said he was and is not who he says he is."
Bailey, who is part of the leadership of SOS's effort to mobilize thousands to take to the streets to denounce Obama's treatment of the military through an SOS project called Operation Street Corner, doesn't only believe that the president is a foreigner. He also believes that he is not actually the son of Barack Obama, Sr. Bailey trumpeted the conspiracy theory that the president is actually the love child of Ann Dunham and writer Frank Marshall Davis.
"In his books, Obama said his mentor was a fellow named Frank Marshall Davis. Frank Marshall Davis was a member of Communist Party USA, he wrote for the communist party's Hawaii newsletter, he was a close friend of Obama's mother, and there's a strong case that Frank Marshall Davis rather than Barack Obama, Sr. was Barack Obama, Jr.'s father and that Barack Obama, Sr. was just an administrative father of convenience," Bailey said.

Akin
Romney is not completely nuts, kudos to him:
For the second straight day, GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney blasted Akin’s remarks, calling them insulting, inexcusable and, frankly, wrong.
Like millions of other Americans, we found them to be offensive, Romney said in an interview with the conservative website National Review Online.
For those who haven't been following this, Akin is running for Senator in Missouri. He has some strong opinions on abortion, fair enough. But in defense of these opinions, he has explained to the world that if a woman gets raped, and she really gets raped, and isn't secretly thinking "yes, yes, yes, do me with your enormous masculine penis" then it's not biologically possible for her to get pregnant.
We're used to getting inaccurate science lessons from Republicans, but this has crossed the line.

Re: Get The Whole True[/i] Story From Fox
I have a friend who works the oil fields on the north slope of Alaska. He actually has co-workers who dug pits in their back yards, lined them with plastic, filled it in with motor oil, and then dumped most of their gun collection into the pit, and then covered the whole thing. They were absolutely sure that Obama was going to take away their guns. Unbelievable . . . I know. It really happened.
Future archaeologists will ascribe this to the actions of a bizarre religious cult.
They'll be right.

Breaking News
All conservatives are now officially sane by comparison, including Buzsaw. Unless he believes this stuff, which he might. OK, maybe not Buzsaw.

OK, now I'm pissed at Romney.
Mitt Romney joked about the right-wing conspiracy theory claiming that President Obama was born in Kenya, during a rally in Commerce, Michigan on Thursday afternoon.
No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised, Romney declared to loud cheers.
He leads with a low race card because he knows his partner holds the ace.

Grover Norquist on Romney:
We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don't need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. ... We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don't need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate. [...] Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become president of the United States. This is a change for Republicans: the House and Senate doing the work with the president signing bills. His job is to be captain of the team, to sign the legislation that has already been prepared.
Well, that was frank. Apparently the key difference between Romney and an empty suit is his ability to sign his name.
But how well will this plan go down with the voters? The idea seems to be that Romney's role would be to rubber-stamp the acts of a Republican Congress ... a group which currently has the same approval rating as leprosy.

In Ohio, 15% of Republicans say that Mitt Romney deserves more credit for the death of Osama Bin Laden than Obama does, and 47% are not sure.
I think this is profoundly unfair: I'm every bit as not-black as Mitt Romney, so why aren't they giving me any credit?

Mitt Romney Totally Understands The Middle Class
In an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Mitt Romney was asked: Is $100,000 middle income? Middle income is $200,000 to $250,000 and less, Romney replied.
Oh, good. I'm glad we sorted that out. I wish my wife and I had middle income. With a single year's income we could pay off our mortgage three times and have enough money left over to pay off her student debt. And then next year we could think about buying that yacht I've always wanted. But unfortunately we are not members of the coveted middle class. If only we'd studied hard and worked hard and gone to college ... oh, wait, we did.
What do I have to do to have a middle income? Right now I'm open to suggestions such as kidnapping Mitt Romney and seeing how much I can get for a ransom. The Republican Party would pay me a small fortune not to release him.

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
I'm not sure how much insight we could get into the character of the man by buying one of his houses.
Which of his houses is that? Is it the one that cost twelve million dollars and has an elevator for his cars, or is it another more folksy and down-to-earth house?

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
Did you read the article?
Yes. Someone who bought one of Romney's houses thinks that he's a nice guy.
Something about that article stinks to me --- actually reading it over it's a huge honking lie, isn't it? --- but I can perfectly well believe that it has a grain of truth in it and that someone who bought one of Romney's houses does indeed think that he's a nice guy.

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
Did you read the article?
Yeah, but think about it. As I said, that's one of his houses. That's his skiing home. It's not his actual home. That's the house that he bought so that he could leave it empty for 50 weeks in the year but so that when he wanted to take his kids skiing, he'd have somewhere to stay.
And then we're told what a humble ordinary guy he is that it looks much like the home that a middle-class family would spend a lifetime paying off the mortgage on? We should think he understands what it's like to be an ordinary American because he bought as a rich man's toy what the rest of us would consider a necessity --- or an unattainable aspiration?
