What right does the US have to bomb a country that they are not at war with?
How would the US react if the situation was reversed - a country used a drone to kill someone in the US that it felt was a criminal?
Edited by Tangle, : No reason given.

I think what you mean is that the USA needs to change International law because it has a technology that it finds useful to pursue its country's aims.
Whether the rest of the world agrees with you is a moot point but as far as I'm aware, it's still illegal for a government to kill people in a country they are not at war with - innocent or guilty.

Wouldn't the reverse be to help and support a radical fundamentalist christian sect that then hijacked 4 airplanes and divebombed them into your skyscapers with the tacit approval of the government?
Yes it would. The US regarded it as an act of war and reacted by invading a country.
Should Pakistan now do the same?

er, yes; that's rather my point.
It hasn't invaded Pakistan, it hasn't declared war on Pakistan but it has used drones to kill people inside Pakistan.

I'm sure you are aware of the hypocracy exhibited by this behaviour.

Jar, the US is bombing a foreign country without declaring war on it - in the case of Pakistan, a country that it relies on as an ally.
It's taking military action inside another sovereign country, killing people it alleges are terrorists and people it admits are innocent civilians.
I'm very simply trying to get you to see that that action if it was performed inside the US by foreign agents - like the extreme example of 9/11 - would be regarded by the US as an act of war.
The US tends to think that whatever it feels is ok, actually IS ok - then wonders why it gets a little push back from the rest of the world.

That's ok then- I'm sure the villagers who lost family understand.
It is also not murder.
You know, I think that's exactly what the guys thought when they flew into those tall buildings.
A distinction without a difference.

Well that's a good way to rationalise any action I guess. "they hate us anyway, stuff it."
Once in a while it wouldn't be a bad idea to try to do something that the rest of the world might admire; generally when people like you, they don't try to kill you. People not wanting to kill you is a good and efficient way of not being killed.
Just a thought from left field.
