The last time the Republicans won the presidency without someone named Nixon or Bush on the ticket was in 1928, Herbert Hoover.

Clinton/Warren 2016 has a nice ring to it.

How about Feingold/Warren or
Warren/Feingold
either way.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

I'd vote for any of the above.

Took some research--I tend to avoid the textual morasses of Texas politics
But I like the cut of his jib. I'd see him as a great VP candidate in 2016 or 2020.
The Democratic bench is remarkably deep, diverse and cause for hope.

A Clinton/Pelosi ticket would offer some great entertainment for those who like to watch Republicans go into uncontrolled apoplectic fits. Even better would be a Clinton/Barney Frank ticket.
But probably Clinton/(safe moderate white younger male from swing state) will be the Dem ticket.
There was no clear 2nd place in the Republican primaries this time around, so they will probably lean towards a newcomer. Methinks Pawlenty purposefully sat out this race knowing that it was unwinnable for Republicans. A governor usually needs a DC insider as running mate, so take your pick of upper echelon Rep. senators.

He competed. He achieved nothing in the primaries. He dropped out. He endorsed Romney. And he did so in such a blaze of obscurity that you didn't even notice.
So I don't think he has much hope next time around.
As I said at the time, no-one called Tim will ever achieve greatness. With a first name like that, the best one can aim for is mild niceness. I don't say it's right, that's just how the world works. You might as well be called Jeremy.

The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it.
- Francis Bacon
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers
A world that can be explained even with bad reasons is a familiar world. But, on the other hand, in a universe suddenly divested of illusions and lights, man feels an alien, a stranger. His exile is without remedy since he is deprived of the memory of a lost home or the hope of a promised land. This divorce between man and his life, the actor and his setting, is properly the feeling of absurdity. — Albert Camus
"...the pious hope that by combining numerous little turds of
variously tainted data, one can obtain a valuable result; but in fact, the
outcome is merely a larger than average pile of shit." Barash, David 1995.

Obama second term agenda
IMHO Obama has a pretty clear agenda for the second term.
  1. Appoint Federal Judges and strongly label any opposition in the Senate as "Obstructionist"
  2. Begin the 2016 Election Campaign by a regular visible presence in Minority (particularly Latino and Hispanic) communities in Texas, New York, Florida, California, Washington, Pennsylvania, Arizona, New Mexico, North Carolina, Colorado, Washington, Oregon
  3. Push the House of Representatives to address the fiscal cliff, make them raise taxes

Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi certainly has all the basics needed for a politician and the D'Alesandro clan always wanted a President in the family. A Nancy Pelosi/Julin Castro ticket or Clinton/Pelosi ticket would certainly jump start the electoral vote count.

Pawlenty is a light weight that wouldn't even be able to win his home state in a presidential election. he probably wouldn't be able to win MN in a primary even. He has high disapproval ratings in the state
quote:
In a 2011 PPP poll of registered Minnesota voters conducted from May 27—30, 42% of Minnesotans had a favorable opinion of Pawlenty, while 52% had an unfavorable opinion of him. In the presidential race, President Obama lead Pawlenty by 51% to 43%, suggesting Pawlenty could lose his home state to President Obama were he the 2012 GOP nominee.
Source
He is cut form the same religious nutjob conservatism as Romney and Santorum. He isn't going to be a candidate for much in the future.
