I don't know much about Coulter. I don't regularly follow what she says or writes. There's one school of thought that says she is putting on an act, feeding red meat to the right wing sharks, and then laughing all the way to the bank.
foreveryoung writes:A case study is right here on the EVC forum. These are the most hateful people i have ever run into in my life. Perhaps you don't get out much. I have seen far more hateful things said about evolutionists. Read some of the posts by marc9000 and by Cold Foreign Object for examples.
foreveryoung writes:It isn't any wonder then when colleges like Fordham University ban Coulter from speaking at their campuses.
I don't follow what Fordham does. They probably see her as a rabble rouser and would prefer to keep the campus peaceful. I would guess they would act in the same way about someone they see as a rabble rouser from the political left. Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

foreveryoung writes:Correction on my last reply to Theodoric: The article was from Salon.com. Then I suspect that the article was this one:
Fordham head blasts Ann Coulter The article quote Father McShane as saying:
quote: Accordingly, the University will not block the College Republicans from hosting their speaker of choice on campus.
I guess that is the statement by McShane that gave you the idea that Fordham was banning Coulter. Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Yes, indeed -- very far to the radical right.
foreveryoung writes:It is extremely hard reading socialist pablum like the writer of this hateful article.
You need to break out of that protective fundamentalist bubble, and learn how to actually read. What you quoted above was said by a journalist, not by Fordham. If you read further down, you can find what Fordham said. Or just look at the snippet that I quoted in Message 38. Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Christianity = Hedonism?
foreveryoung writes:That's exactly right. Christianity is all about what God did for us through his Son. It has absolutely nothing to do with us and especially nothing to do with our actions.
Perhaps you can explain to us the difference between Christianity and Hedonism. For it sure looks, from what you just said, that the two are nearly identical. Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Re: Another case of cognitive dissonance
Just putting this in the public arena. Foreveryoung responded to my previous post with a PM that said ...
For the record, I have 6 PMs from foreveryoung. As a matter of principle, I think it better to keep private messages private, so I didn't post any of them here. I am interested in an open and honest public discussion with foreveryoung and attempting to publicly embarrass him does not seem likely to help. Re: Another case of cognitive dissonance
He then began jeering all of my posts from today. I have several jeers from foreveryoung in this thread, and one from Faith. To be honest, I think I value those jeers even more than I value the cheers. Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity
