they are desperate because of the situation they find themselves in and are eager to have a foreign man rescue them from that and take them to a place where they can have a better life.
I have no familiarity with these things, but I've seen the ads, and I've always assumed that the women would not be as advertised. But even if they were, the potential for being taken advantage of seems quite high.
ABE removed anecdote. Don't really want family to see it.

You know, there's a thing called "flirting". I still haven't figured it out. At first, while I was still married, some of the women in class were doing things that I didn't understand. Now, when you're married, you learn to be blind to flirting, so when something happened in class that I wasn't sure of, I simply wrote it off as nothing.
My wife finds this "blindness to flirting" thing utterly impossible to believe and quite annoying.
"You didn't notice that Melinda was all up in your space??"
Me: "No honey, who is Melinda?"
"Grrrrr..."

What does she expect you to do, be on the alert for advances from other women?
No. Her position is that the flirting is so obvious that it is completely implausible that I wouldn't notice.
I don't want to overstate her reaction. She just let's me know that she noticed flirting, and that's she knows that I did not instigate it. I am not aware that she's ever said anything to the flirter, just to me, the flirtee. And it's not like she's thrown hot grits on me either. We discuss the incident and it's forgotten. There may be incidents that she doesn't bother to mention.

I suggest he start with Dark Side of the Moon
I couldn't recommend DSOTM for treating depression. Yeah, one of the greatest rock albums ever, but isn't 'Money' the closest thing to an upbeat cut on the entire album? I once belted out some lines from 'Time' at a birthday and ended up stumbling through an apology that was not well received. 'Sun is the same in a relative way but you're older. Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death' uh, oops?
How about 'One of these days? from Meddle'. Or 10 minutes of 'Shine on you Crazy Diamond?'
And skip the drugs. Totally unnecessary. Pink Floyd is experience enough.

You aren't really thinking that oni is saying "listen to this rock album while tripping/smikin a doobie and your depression will be cured.
Of course not.

Maybe, but don't you have to stop long enough to find out?
Lol!
I should have known. I thought you were complaining, but of course you were just bragging.

Sorry that I haven't posted in this forum for some time. I have been extremely busy with college and busy talking with my new girl friend from ukraine.
Doesn't sound like any apology is needed. Good luck with the new gal.

Get her started on Heinlein!
Heinlein? I'm pretty sure this girl is older than fourteen. How about some grown up stuff? Maybe Samuel Delaney or James Hogan?
