But I challenge you to find any post of mine where communism is said to be a religion. Some kind of word-trickery, I guess--some sleight-of-hand distinction you are smuggling in.

Hi robin, crash. We are getting a bit off topic here. The aim was to understand what attracts people to fundamentalist religions. Talking about state religions doesn't help with that. Thanks.

The aim was to understand what attracts people to fundamentalist religions In my view, fundamentalism is a political movement, not only a religious movement. People are attracted because they look out at the world and they think they see a corrupted morality. ABE: Or perhaps fundamentalism is a form of communism. Some people think communism is a "religion." People often misuse words for argumentative purposes. It's like baiting. Ifen, are you approaching sociology from a Darwinist perspective?
Jared Diamond apparantly did. Phat, I really don't know that much about sociology. Diamond is a biologist with a strong interest in anthropology so perhaps his approach is accurately characterized as "Darwinist". I just know I really like his book. I thought Diamond explained a lot of things about human culture and history and did it very well. Have you read it? or any of his books? lfen

Hiya Bud, In My Mind, Religion Has Some Good Sides. But It Has More Bad Sides, We Can't Forget That Religion, Has Caused So Many Arguements In the World, All from Different Beliefs... Now To me.. Thats Not A Good Thing... Its caused Alot Of Deaths, Just Over Some Silly Beliefs.

So... Post hoc ergo propter hoc? It could be just correlation and not causation  I think people are going to fight regardless and that religion is an easy thing on which to pass the buck. Even wars that were fought in the name of religion had other reasons under the surface. But What I Really Wanted To Know Was Why You Capitalize Every Word In Your Post?
