29% of UK teachers favor teaching creationism

Actually I would be pretty upset if GDR's religious ideas were taught in science classes.The reason for caring more about "Biblie-based Creationists" - and you've got to be including the ID crowd here, for all their denials - is less what they believe and more their aggressive approach and continual attempts to get their religion into science lessons where it doesn't belong.

I don't think that either matter to my point, which is that my reaction has more to do with the actions of the creationists than the content of their beliefs.

Faith, I've criticised some of GDR's ideas quite heavily. And I have to say that a lot of the "animosity" coming your way is driven by your own attitude and behaviour.

Yes, declaring yourself to be sole arbiter of the truth and calling everybody who disagrees stupid - when you don't even have a solid grasp of what you're talking about - is offensive. Because it is unbelievably arrogant and rude.Geology is real science. It is based on huge amount of research. How on earth can you honestly call it "stupid" when you have almost no idea of what it says or the evidence it is based on ?

Sorry about Geology, sometimes I just let it all hang out. Sometimes I try to be polite about it, and I do admire the British creationist in that link I posted a couple times now, who is very respectful toward establishment Geology. I suppose he has to be since he's one of them.
