Faith writes:
The doctrine handed down from faithful believer to faithful believer over the centuries as the truth they all recognized in scripture.
But that can be said by those that disagree with you as well.

Re: Review of the False Church of Rome
Of course it can and is. They say they are the ones who are following correct doctrine.
By the way, so do Muslims. In fact the whole origin of Islam was that Christians pervert the scripture.

Try truth Faith?
AND I ANSWERED THAT IF THOSE RCC PRACTICES VIOLATE THE BIBLE, WHICH THEY DO. THEN THEY ARE DISQUALIFIED AS CHRISTIAN BY THE EVIDENCE OF THE BIBLE, NOT BY OPINION.
Actually Faith, once again you simply misrepresent and play con man hide the pea shell games.
There is a difference between violating the Bible and doing things not mentioned in the Bible.
No where in the Bible does it say that the Pope should not wear a crown during ordination.
No where in the Bible is the practice of indulgences prohibited.
Do you remember what the author of Luke claims the Angel Gabriel said? No where in the Bible is it said that people should not venerate Mary, mother of Jesus.
A Rosary is nothing more than a place keeper and counting device. No where in the Bible does it prohibit using such things to count repetitions or aid in concentration.
Not a single one of your examples was an example of violating the Bible.

Re: Try truth Faith? jar?
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that priests can't molest children or murder millions who disagree with Romanism either.
Well kinda.
The Bible says you should not commit murder whether is is Protestants killing Catholics or Catholics killing Protestants or either or both killing Muslims.
And molestation is not a Biblical issue, it is a societal issue where religion is irrelevant.
You just keep trying to palm the pea through misdirection don't you faith.

Re: Try truth Faith? jar?
The Bible reflects the opinions of a peoples at a given point of time and within a specific culture so there is no one answer.
There is the well known "Let he who is without sin caste the first stone" passage. Now the writer could have had the Jesus character say "Hey, stoning is wrong so don't do it." That would be clear and simple. But the author didn't. He says "look at yourself first and place yourself in the other persons position."
The Bible is filled with God struggling with the issue of morality, questioning, unsure what is the right and moral path and the folk that try to pedal absolute Biblical morality or even God's absolute morality do a great disservice.
Morality is difficult and every single instance must be determined using the knowledge available and the persons best judgement and empathy.

Morality is absolutely slippery
I don't think there was a concept of "child molestation" back then. Children were property just like women and used to gain power, prestige, wealth, advantage.
Genocide is another similar issue. There just was no such concept. Even within groupings like the 12 Tribes you find examples of "us" and "them".
When we talk about modern concepts like those we are simply trying to shoehorn our evolved morality onto an earlier period. Jess don't work.

Re: Try truth Faith? jar?
I would be more interested and impressed if the writer was a believer in God and accepted the "Jesus character" as more than simply a character.
Why? How would you tell?
Of course this would only happen if the writer believed not only in the God he or she wrote about but the GOD --Creator of all seen and unseen--Who many would say reached out to humanity through Jesus Christ who was initially Gods character long before any writers got ahold of the script.
What does that mean?

How do you tell that the experience is a reflection of reality and not hallucination?
You have never told how to test that the experience of meeting God or being saved or being born again is real.

Re: Hypothetical Rational EvC-er says
I'm sure the Pope appreciates your fervent politically correct defense of the RCC's wealth and false doctrine, and especially your hatred of traditional Protestantism.
Some Protestant chapters of Club Christian certainly deserve not hatred but pity, revulsion and disgust. Calvinism is one example. It is based on all that is evil and despicable about a theology or God. The basis of Calvinism is the lowest possible expression of humanity, faith, empathy and love.

LOL
I have no doubt any God worthy of worship would condemn Calvinism as well.

Re: Try truth Faith? jar?
Yet they couldn't seem to get a single list, ever. There are still many different Canons and lists of what should be in and out.
Sorry Faith, but that is fact, not fiction.
Also there are so many things in every list that are simply factually false for there to be inerrancy.

Re: Try truth Faith? jar?
MOST of the books on ALL the canonical lists were identical. The canon we now have in the Protestant Bible is all inspired scripture.
So you claim but as usual, that is simply false. The smallest Canon has only 5 books while the largest Canon has over 80, so they are not identical as you claimed.
The Canon you and I happen to use is the Protestant Canon but that does not mean it is inerrant. And the books in that Canon still fcontain factually false material.

Re: Could you just try to recognize that I AM being honest?
Also Faith, being inspired does not mean it is factually correct. There is a lot in the Bible that is simply factually incorrect whether inspired or not.

Re: Could you just try to recognize that I AM being honest?
Then the evidence shows that god is not very bright and pretty incompetent.
You have a problem there faith. If you take that position then the god you are trying to market is either a liar, a fool or a joker.

I really ought to know what the orthodox view is, I've read tons of theology and listened to thousands of sermons and still do, and I take my knowledge from those sources. Jesus is understood to be the author of all of it and the subject of all of it.
I know some chapters of Club Christian try to market that nonsense but it is simply silly and totally misrepresents what the Bible actually says.
To say Jesus was the author and subject of all the material in the stories included in any of the canons is patently false. It is just plain lying.
God couldn't possibly inspire the scriptures and they not be inerrant.
Yet they are filled with factual errors and contradictions so the facts show that once again your position is false.
