Re: A Question To Theists
What would the difference be betwen a world in whcih God is present and one in which God is now absent? A world where GOD was absent would not exist. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: A Question To Theists
A God might but GOD couldn't. Everything we know as this universe or reality is but a subset of GOD. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: No absolute truth !?!?!?!?!
Well, no, there are other states than just true or false. There are things that are true but only within a given context and things that are partially true and partially false (a whole spectrum of those) and things that are nether true nor false. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: Only absolute truth?!?
Yellow is the best color. Strawberry ice cream is white with big red strawberries. People should do as I say. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: Collective agreement is all we have ???????????
Ringo writes: JRTjr01 writes: Now, I could weigh in on the whole ‘Six Creation Days’ thing here, however, that is another rabbit to chase another time....
That's just an example. Once it was objectively true (by collective agreement); now it's objectively false (by collective agreement). It is also objectively false by weight of evidence. What JRT has presented is that by weight of evidence a large percentage of people believe there is a god. That is only proof that a large percentage of people believe there is a god, not evidence that there is a god. What is needed is not just belief (collective agreement) but also evidence and so far no one has presented any evidence that a god, any god, exists. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: Collective agreement is all we have ???????????
MrHambre writes: I know it's message-board dogma that God-is-God-ain't is a crucial evidentiary matter that forms the foundation of all analysis of religion, but could it be that this question is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things? What if the important question is What does belief or nonbelief in God mean? While I believe there is a GOD I also understand that I have no evidence or even a clue how there could be evidence that a GOD exists. I strongly believe that even if the answer were relevant, in fact absolutely essential, that there is absolutely no way as long as we are alive to find out whether or not there is a GOD or if it is important or relevant to know there is a GOD. But behavior is both important and relevant. If I try to impose my belief or my non-belief on others it is relevant. So it seems to me that what we need to do as a functioning society is question any and all beliefs but at the same time stop trying to impose personal beliefs or lack of beliefs on others. There's no need for you to play, but the facts are that I have objective evidence for Santa Claus but none for Brad Pitt. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!
