When you keep characterizing my views as hate ...
... then I am, very obviously, telling the truth. You froth and foam with hate, Faith, your posts drip with hate, they are delirious with hate, frantic with hate. The posts in which you deny being hateful are full of hate. This one is a case in point:
When you keep characterizing my views as hate, as I said, you belong in the class of propagandists who follow the kinds of formulas that Hitler laid out for the purpose of getting others to hate the target, and that's a form of murder in itself. Only it wasn't Hitler, who couldn't have been bright enough to write all that, it was Jesuit father Staempfle. Stop calling me and my views names in that cheap bullying way I'm talking about and I'll consider taking you out of Goebbels' camp.
Yeah, this is like saying "I'll go on hitting you in the face until you stop calling me violent."

Re: Yes it is the lowest kind of propaganda
No sane society, no major society, no whole culture, has ever endorsed gay marriage ...
Well, apart from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Iceland, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Uruguay, Wales ... but I fear I'm interrupting you, you must have some accusations of lying you need to be getting on with.

Re: Yes it is the lowest kind of propaganda
If all that is recent then it's not what I'm talking about, I'm talking about down through history.
You said it hadn't ever happened. If what you meant was something else, you should have said something else.

The terms hate and hater and bigot and homophobe are political correctness propaganda, just as I said, emotion-provoking terms designed to draw hatred against those so labeled, very much what Hitler/Staempfle had in mind, that have no place in a discussion of political ideas, as was understood in western civilization, or at least the English-speaking world, when it used to be sane, and as applied to me and other Christians they are outright lies.
By their fruits shall ye know them. Outwardly you people foam and froth with hate, are we seriously meant to believe that this is just a hypocritical act, a phony pretense of hatred to conceal the fact that deep down you're all full of love and tolerance?

Re: So ends civilization
Well, bye-bye civilization. I guess we'll just have to struggle by with the "sheer barbarism" that goes on sending Faith her welfare checks, which as she has explained to us is theft.

If such a law gets passed anyway, which by the way would be against the vast majority of the people who have supported the many gay marriage bans ...
Same-Sex Marriage Support Reaches New High at 55%

Why does their vote count more than the votes of the rest of us?
Um ... that came across as a bit crazy. No-one said they did. When you add up everyone, treating everyone the same, you get 55% favoring gay marriage.
In any case that doesn't change the fact that the many gay marriage bans expressing the popular viewpoint ...
But the "popular viewpoint" is in fact in favor of gay marriage. As the poll shows.

Gay marriage is a travesty, but of course it is being crammed down the throats of the majority of the people ...

55% is a majority, Faith. It's a bigger majority than that by which we've selected any President since Reagan in '84. It's a majority, Faith. If we banned gay marriage, that would be "crammed down the throats of the majority of the people".

you make a big deal out of one poll that claims there is now majority support for gay marriage which is possible, SOMEWHERE, but doubtful
Most Americans Back Supreme Court on Gay Marriage Including in the Affected States
Poll: Support for gay marriage hits high after ruling
A new ABC News / Washington Post Poll shows 58 percent of the country supports the right of same-sex couples to wed
Can you find a recent national poll with a majority against gay marriage?
but I suspect you know what you are doing, which means you are going to be held more responsible in the end than those who are just mindlessly believing the lie
What, I'm going to burn in a hotter hell for more eternity because I love my neighbor as myself?
Seriously, Faith, what are you going to threaten us with? According to your theology, I'm already going to suffer infinite pain for all eternity just for not subscribing to your theological beliefs. There's nothing extra that can happen to me for being kind to people, is there?
But again I'm trying to leave EvC. I hope this is the point when I can actually accomplish it.
Well, as soon as the guy holding the gun to your head goes home.

Re: Popular opinion cannot over rule the Constitution.
Really it comes down to the fact that you all regard homosexuals as a legitimate minority group protected by the First Amendment and I don't.
I thought everyone was protected by the First Amendment. If you disagree, could you give us a list of the people who aren't?
You also don't seem to care that Christians were originally the concern of the First Amendment, THE group that had been oppressed and persecuted in Europe ...
And, also, THE group that had been doing the oppressing and persecuting. And then went to America so that they could hang Quakers in accordance with the dictates of their conscience.

Meanwhile ...
Over the weekend, Republicans in the Michigan Statehouse passed a license to discriminate bill that would give just about anyone the right to refuse service to LGBT people if it conflicted with their religious beliefs.
The broadly written Religious Freedom Restoration Act would allow, for example, an EMT to refuse emergency treatment to a gay person or a pharmacist to refuse to refill HIV medication, because God decreed gays and lesbians should be put to death.
The measure is similar to one in Arizona that even right-wing governor Jan Brewer thought went too far and vetoed.

Re: Second Thoughts
So ... this.
A Colorado baker is facing a state discrimination investigation after refusing to make a cake with a bitter theme. But a Texas ministry on Thursday disavowed the complaint one of its co-founders filed against the woman who refused to sell him cakes with anti-gay messages.
Marjorie Silva, owner of Azucar Bakery in Denver, said she told the man, Bill Jack of the Denver suburb of Castle Rock, that she wouldn't fill his order last March for two cakes in the shape of the Bible, to be decorated with phrases like "God hates gays" and an image of two men holding hands with an "X" on top.
Silva told NBC station KUSA of Denver that she later received a discrimination complaint from the Civil Rights Division of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. "After I read it, I was like, 'No way,'" Silva said. "We're not doing this. This is just very discriminatory and hateful."
I don't often say this, but well played, evil bigot, well played. This is what I was talking about. She shouldn't have the right to refuse him service based on his views, but she should have the right to not actually endorse his views by providing him with a service. Let's ban discrimination by all means, but there ought to be a fence around people's first amendment rights --- the government can't force people to say things they violently disagree with.

Well, as a British expat I don't like to say anything bad about the UK. Nonetheless ... I do like the First Amendment, I like the rigid application of it. Then I look at Europe and I find that in the UK there are laws such as you cite --- and in France they can ban the burqa. If there is one thing the USA can teach the EU, it's that you need a First Amendment. If the government can control speech and expression ad hoc, then speech is not free, and you are not free.
