A few months ago we had a lot of smoke in the air from forest fires hundreds of miles away - so much smoke as to be a health hazard. The moon was blood red.
So prophecy nuts don't have to rely on mere astronomy for "fulfilment".

Clearly false. There CAN be a LOT wrong with it. An obvious example would be if you take the blood moon to "mean" the end of the world and you do everything in your power to accelerate the process.
