Science works......you mean the science dealing with motion in space and accurately predicting trajectories ten years in advance? Or the science dealing with how much booster to use on these probes and the direction of said boosts and timing? If there was a crash instead of a landing, it likely would be due to human error and not bad science. Science is a tool ....not a modern reinvention of THOR.....all powerful... all knowing.
