How did Facebook become so popular? |
When it first came out it was so much cleaner. It was really pretty basic and didn't have a whole lot going on. There wasn't even a "news feed" on your home page, it was basically just a book of faces.
Gradually, they've added and implemented more and more crap and junk and now its a real turd. Too, with the integration into, well, everything on the web, and how stuff gets automatically shared onto news feeds, its gotten to the point where I find it almost unusable.
Their software is just pathetic, too. All kinds of shit just messes up and doesn't work right. So don't think the fault is lying on your end.
On the other hand, I just ran into a guy that was one of my best friends in grade school. I haven't heard from or seen him in, like, 20 years. I was very interested in seeing where he lives, and what he does, and learning that he is married with 3 boys now. Without Facebook (or something like it), I doubt that would have ever happened.
We're even making plans to meet up over Thanksgiving. I'm really happy about that.
