So, the whole RAZD vs Moose/Tangle thing comes down to irrational vs rational.
And the whole thread became extremely pedantic, and hence uninteresting, a couple hundred posts back.

Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.
Belief gets in the way of learning--Robert A. Heinlein
How can I possibly put a new idea into your heads, if I do not first remove your delusions?--Robert A. Heinlein
It's not what we don't know that hurts, it's what we know that ain't so--Will Rogers
If I am entitled to something, someone else is obliged to pay--Jerry Pournelle
If a religion's teachings are true, then it should have nothing to fear from science...--dwise1

Yes, of course. But beating a dead horse constantly for page after page of posts is fun. Maybe not for the spectators watching the blood splatter with each blow but certainly for the participants who feel that emotional vested interest in making the other guy look wrong even though none of 3, 4, 12 different sides in this continuous bludgeoning are actually wrong.

The problem with religion is that many people feel the need to share or even force their particular religions on others.
Mild examples are the blue laws, which fortunately are going the way of the dodo.
The extreme of this is beheading those who won't kowtow to their particular gods.

Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

This thread is a classic example of the wisdom of the previous policy of sending threads to summary after about 300 posts.

Re: It's natural to be a naturalist . . .
I am agnostic and believe that the evidence against god/s is as poor and inconclusive as the evidence for god/s.
So, you are claiming that it's a 50/50 proposition?
After thousands to tens of thousands of years of shamans of all stripes making claim after claim about the existence and desires of their particular deities, all the while providing no evidence that stands up to scrutiny, you still claim it is a 50/50 proposition?
That's pretty silly, considering how rational you are in other areas.
What's the fancy Latin term in logic for "argument based on wishful thinking?"
