Historically, it has been often been the states that trod all over individual rights and the federal government that cleans up their evil. Exactly true. Slavery. Civil rights. Gay rights. When left to their own devices, states essentially gravitate towards mob rule. They often discount the Constitution (both State AND Federal) by pushing forward legislation that often goes counter to the foundational freedoms of our Republic.

Rick Perry Enters Presidential Race
I hope this time he has the foresight to write down the three federal agencies he wants to cut. Even Palin was smart enough to do that:

It's official. The Donald is entering the presidential race on the Republican ticket:
With barbs and bluster, Trump barges into 2016 White House race Although he has not made any statements regarding a potential running mate, my guess would be that overgrown weasel that lives on top of his head is high on the list.

Business is the wrong model for government. Government is not there to make a profit or to benefit ceos and big corporations, and you can't fire people from being citizens. I would take it one step further: why is it that the individuals who are running and are trying to tout their 'business experience' as a positive always seem to have horrible business backgrounds? The Donald is actually a very mediocre businessman at best. His companies have bankrupted three or four times at last count. Not to mention his 'wealth' (whatever it actually is) was mostly predicated on him getting a huge inheritance from his father. And I also heard he had to borrow money from siblings to stay afloat at one point. Same can be said for Carly Fiorina. Her tenure at Hewlett-Packard was a well documented disaster. How can she possibly run on that success? Ditto for the likes of Mitt Romney; his Bain Capital skewered a whole swath of good companies in its day. And of course, let's not forget good ol' Dubya. That man was an anti-Midas when it comes to running a successful business of any sort. His only claim to fame was his name and the fact that he was governor of Texas. Which, judging by what I see from Rick Perry, appears to only require three functioning neurons and a goofy smile.

I wonder what will happen when Trump and Christie go at it. It will be like two monsters from a Japanese Kaiju film going toe to toe.

The line-up really is from the very bottom of the barrel of America when you consider intellect, education, honesty, integrity, compassion, empathy, and character. I think that should actually be the definition in Webster's when I look up the word 'politician'.

If today's Democrats want to re-write history and try to claim they're just like the Democrats of the 1960's, we'll see how it goes. Maybe there are enough young people that haven't had good history teachers who will buy it. We'll have to wait and see how thoroughly Hillary and Bernie analyze the 60's Democrat statement "Ask NOT what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." I don't think any sort of comparison of today's Democrats to 1960s Democrats makes much sense. The Democratic party in the 1960s was a very different organization than what you see today. Keep in mind that in the 1960s, the vast majority of the racist southern whites who wanted to continue segregation were Democrats from states like Texas and Alabama. 'Dixie-crats' they were often called. After the 1964 Civil Rights Act, many of them jumped ship to the Republican party and this was something Nixon referenced in his 'Southern Strategy'. Politics is an ever shifting landscape. California for example was run by Republicans for decades and created the Republican Messiah himself Ronald Reagan. Yet today, it is bluer than Papa Smurf. Anyone see this loony asking The Donald a question at his most recent rally?
A birther, a bigot and a moron all wrapped up in one package. And so is the guy asking the question. Edited by Diomedes, : Fixed typo Edited by Diomedes, : Fixed typo

Christie? He might be next. Although I admit I somewhat selfishly hope he lasts long enough to have another back and forth with The Donald. It honestly is like watching an old Japanese Kaiju film where Godzilla and King Ghidorah are battling in out.

Anyone see this Twitter stupidity by Rupert Murdoch?
Rupert Murdoch: Ben Carson would be a 'real black president' Not exactly sure what he is claiming by using the word 'real'. Of course he backtracked and apologized in a later tweet. Just proves what I always thought. You can't spell 'Twitter' without 'twit'.

Basically, what I got from it was that Jeb is a 'grinder'. Or maybe he is a big fan of the mobile app:
