Climate change denial bought and paid for
New York Times writes: But newly released documents show the extent to which Dr. Soon’s work has been tied to funding he received from corporate interests. He has accepted more than $1.2 million in money from the fossil-fuel industry over the last decade while failing to disclose that conflict of interest in most of his scientific papers. At least 11 papers he has published since 2008 omitted such a disclosure, and in at least eight of those cases, he appears to have violated ethical guidelines of the journals that published his work. There are two camps. One trusts only humans (mostly they trust themselves) but delude themselves into believing that they are trusting Jesus. The other camp trusts reliable documented empirical evidence.

They may believe that they are trusting Jesus. However, there is no consistency to the messages that they claim to get. It seems that their Jesus is telling them exactly what they wanted to hear.

Not here. it just rains and the temp hangs around the 80s. Usually it is dry as a desert and around 100. Yes, it is similar here in the Chicago suburbs. It has been an unusually mild summer. It seems that the pacific northwest has sucked up all of our usual summer heat.

The lecturer told us all about Gaia, a manifestation of paganism which is apparently something science students need to know about. It is more likely that he told you about The Gaia hypothesis, which has nothing to do with paganism, other than that they borrowed the name from Greek mythology.

I guess "screaming blue bloody murder" is an Australian thing. Having grown up in Australia, I guess I'll come to their defense. They recently voted out their previous government (which seemed to think like Dredge). And global warming was one of the major issues in that election.
