Happy Earth Day
I didn't see an obvious place to put this, but Happy Earth Day! It's going to be a hot one.
I have a hard time feeling celebratory about the state of the Earth, at least with regards to the human impact on the planet! I'm just really glad i don't live in the tropics!

Same. To me it's kin to having a birthday party for a death row inmate. Nothing but sad.

The political class refused to fund solar/wind like they do war.
War came first.
War came second.
War came third.
....
War got every priority over the environment.
(Just look at the shiploads of bombs our Congress keeps sending to Ukraine - BloodCash)

Regarding retards who don't understand appropriations.
Appropriating funds for wind and solar required compromise and give-and-take.
Give up funding for that, for this ...

There is a warmer.

He supported war over welfare of us all.

This and a number of your other recent posts have been a bit over the top. I leave it to you to decide how you would like to help improve the experience for everyone here, including yourself. If I don't see an improvement then I will begin putting a limit on your daily post count.

God Smites the Bible Belt
The cities experiencing the most number of days hotter than average range mostly across the Bible Belt. This list is from American cities are getting unbearably hot. These ones are roasting the most:
CityDays Above Average
Las Vegas17.5
San Antonio15.5
Nashville15.5
Jacksonville14
Atlanta12.5
Washington DC11.5
Baltimore11.5
Realeigh9
Albuquerque8.5
Charlotte8.5
Data is from this year through July 31.
See, conservative Christians, climate change is real, and God is working really hard to convince you! Of course, you'll just see this as good news because it means the end times are getting closer, especially in the Bible Belt. But maybe end times doesn't mean what you think it means. Maybe end times isn't the hearkening of a new age but just of your region becoming uninhabitable.

My town is a blue dot in a deep red sea, so the surrounding areas are learning a few lessons this summer.

Re: God Smites the Bible Belt
We're at roughly the same latitude as you but our climate is much cooler. The highest temperature reached in the nearest city this summer was likely higher, but the high at our house was 94.8° according to a Govee temperature sensor. That was June 19, 20, 21 when we had consecutive days of 92.7°, 94.8° and 94.3°. We had another hot period starting July 11th. It never went above 90.9°, but it went above 80° for 10 consecutive days.
We're already late enough in the summer that morning temperatures are around 60° and daytime temperatures above 80° are rare.
Most people I talk to around here seem to agree it's been both warmer and wetter.

Another heat wave
I have lost count of how many heat waves we've had here in the Pacific Northwestern US this summer, but I'm seeing the shortening of dragonfly flight seasons at my best habitats. Yesterday was 96F and very smoky from wildfires, today and tomorrow are predicted at 100F.
I got out on my main research stream for a couple hour yesterday before it got too hot and lucked out, a female damselfly of the species I'm most interested in let me approach and shoot closer than ever before. This was the first time I have been able to shoot a female with the sun behind her instead of behind me, making her wings glow.
A couple days ago I saw a headline that said we have just experienced the hottest summer in the last 2000 years. I didn't read it then an now I can't find it so I don't know what data sets they used to make that determination. School started here Tuesday and now the news is full of announcements about how they are handling the heat without air conditioning.
