Re: misrepresentation
The commands for genocide were restricted to a particular time, place, and situation, and are not normative for today. How killing babies was ever good?

Re: misrepresentation
Here we see a difference between a believer and an unbeliever. An unbeliever (like you two) will set himself as an authority above God, and will question and judge God at every step. A believer will trust and obey God. Abraham is uniformly praised in Scripture for his faith in God and his willingness to obey whatever God commanded. He did the right thing in obeying God. Even if I was a believer, I would still prefer to spend an eternity in hell with the good guy instead of the monster you worship.

Re: misrepresentation
Just wondering if you could bring yourself to try to see Abraham's obedience the way believers have seen it for many millennia: as a noble act of faith in the the one true trustworthy good God? I started out as a believer Faith, indoctrinated from a young age. I never took it literally though and never saw killing children as something good. You see, I think almost all humans are born with some degrees of empathy. It was religion that took yours away.

Re: misrepresentation
I have empathy for those under God's judgment In your theology, aren't we all under god's judgment? You seem to make a distinction to justify the killing of babies.

Re: misrepresentation
The moral bankruptcy here is that of those who fail to recognize the horrific deeds God was punishing in those incidents you decry. What did the babies do that was so horrific Faith? Allowed to be born by your god?

Re: misrepresentation
I have sympathy for anyone under God's judgments for any reason. That's what I said, that's what I meant. What about answering my question instead of evading it? Also, I would like an answer to my other question : What did the babies do that was so horrific Faith? Edited by Bliyaal, : No reason given.

Re: The point has been fully made
The assertions are that the Church believes Christ was the subject of the Old Testament Oh really? Let's take a look at it. You wrote :
She'd have to be told that the Hebrew scriptures all pointed toward the Messiah Jesus, that that was their purpose and that He fulfilled it all. Not quite the same thing isn't it?
