Since the crimes are Federal, it seems the Federal government has some reasonable recourse that does not involve violence. The Federal courts can initiate asset seizure, all the cattle, any bank accounts, any property, vehicles, anything that moves or can be portable.

You don't ensure that they follow the law, thank God. You can encourage people to follow the law and you can encourage people to protest what they see as unjust laws but you can only sanction and isolate those who do break laws.

The folk are simply using the same process that self-identified "Biblical Christians" us, pick out what supports your position and ignore what refutes it. It works whether you are talking about the Constitution, the Bible, History, reality, any subject. The only requirement is that you be willfully dishonest and ignorant.

There comes a time when lying becomes so ingrained that they can not even tell when they are lying to themselves as well as everyone else.

My guess is they will just declare "Victory" and run away.

And since they were part of a group action it's likely they can individually be held accountable for any actions of the groups. Just driving the getaway car in a bank robbery is not a lesser offense.

Under our Constitution, being an idiot does not mean you cannot also be President or that you do not have to follow the rules. Being an idiot does not even exempt you from paying taxes or suffering consequences.

Reading their filings would certainly support a plea of insanity with remand to a psychiatric institution.

Frankly this is a very significant decision since it is a clear reflection of an attitude exemplified in Il Donald's candidacy and may portend a similar shock come November 9th.There really is a large current today of folk that see the Government as the enemy and that support both the Bundys, Trump and the whole principle of direct opposition even when done by force.
