Speaking as a Faith/Belief Mod, I honestly think that Bob Bobber (and to a lesser extent Greatest I AM) are spamming their blogs and have little if any interest at actually discussing anything here. This goes against my idea of the purpose and spirit of EvC...we all are somewhat of an internet community here and though we argue and fuss and disagree, we do so in increasing knowledge of how each other think. Bob Bobber and GIA do NOT do this. They simply regurgitate the blogs and posts that they wish the internet-at-large to read for some odd reason. I am losing patience with these people and unless they actually take the time to have a normal conversation with us that cannot be googled elsewhere, I vote to permanently ban them. Percy, if you see this, what do YOU think?

I'm sure you are right about Bob Bobber (GIA too). I've been looking over his blog and most of his postings here are from that blog. Although so much of what he says is nonsensical for one reason or another -- which I don't understand because he does seem capable of articulate argument and has a surprisingly good grasp of salvation by grace for someone whose doctrine seems so...strange -- I've found some of his posts to give me leverage to expand on basic Christian theology, which has been fun. But frustrating too.I have yet to figure out what branch of Christianity he considers himself to belong to. As some on the other thread suggest, I suppose it could be Jehovah's Witnesses, which isn't Christian, but the thing is what he says is garbled enough to make it hard to figure out.Whatever you and Admin decide is fine with me. For what it's worth, I get the same impression.

From what I've read, I'm inclined to agree about the Watchtower thing. He seems a little JW to me with a tinge of his own eccentric beliefs.

• I've never encountered a JW who does anything but parrot the party line, and whatever else you say about Bob B, he's original. To a bizarre degree, but original.
• He's very good at spelling out salvation by grace and not works. He's a little fuzzy about the role of the cross, but grace versus works is quite clear, and I wouldn't have expected the JWs to think in those terms.
• The first time I visited his blog I saw that one of his followers was a church, not a Kingdom Hall but a Bible Church. Unless there's been a schism in the JWs they don't call their meeting places Bible Church. I can't find that follower now. Maybe he took it down for some reason.

If Bob Bobber has been cut-n-pasting from other sites, no matter whether his own words, and if he's continued doing it in the face of nearly continuous objections from participants and a couple warnings from moderators, then this would explain why he's not making sense or responding to what was said. Some people just want their words on as many websites as possible, and perhaps he's one of them.I've been leaning toward taking action soon. Maybe I would have posted a note to the thread asking participants if they wanted to continue trying to find common ground with Bob. Faith has been carrying a heavy load here, and only by reading Faith's posts have I been able to grasp some of what Bob has been trying to say.Hopefully we welcome people of all points of view, but if they can't or won't express themselves coherently or engage in a back-and-forth dialog then board moderation has to take action. Bob Bobber seems on the road to an indefinite suspension, but we should see what he says and how he acts upon his return.

I figure that bob will see this and read it, so Bob---do you really want to get to know us and have a discussion or do you feel as if you have a mission to enlighten us? Please be honest---as I have been honest in my feelings towards your posts--not you personally, whom I quite fairly don't know. We are not some private club, but we do want someone who posts as frequently as you do to embrace the spirit of our forum as well as our Forum Guidelines. We want you to learn right along with us instead of attempting to teach us something. What frustrates me is that you dont bother to slow down and explain yourself as well as being humble enough to learn a thing or two from us. Once you come off of suspension, feel free to be honest with us. (or at least me! )
