I think John Oliver sums it up well in this song. Some graphic language is in the song so viewer discretion is advised.

Re: 2 Pence Worth
it wasn't the rational minds who wanted out of the EU
Well given that they voted to pay the same tarifs to trade with the eu, but not get a voice in how the eu market is run, over paying tarifs geting some of the money back and having a vote on how the eu market is run. My guess is that they where not so rational. As they dont have the Euro and ar not part of the shengen borders nothing else changes with them leaving.

Re: May to reopen deal talks with EU
I think that has been their endgame from the get go. Either force a re-vote or broker a deal that is heavily skewed in the EU's favor.
Well the birts had the idea that they will be the British empire negotiating with a pack of barbarians. Thing is They are a fractured island nation negotiating with an empire. Of course the deal will be skewed in the EU'S favour that's the whole point of 27 countries banning together. They wanted to leave and still have open access to the EU's common market who do they think they are. They had the best deal of any EU nation, they did not have the EURO and their open borders where not so open iv been trough the whole of Europe the only place i was ever searched on the border was the UK. They even got rebates from the Eu common fund a veto vote .... If there was ever an EU member that had no reason to leave that would be the UK. I just hope when they come begging back on their hands and knees they get a standard entry deal.

Re: May to reopen deal talks with EU
We just need to revoke and it's like nothing happened.
Yea but thats not going to happen, the right would riot.
re-build as a giant Singapore and fuck the EU up the arse. It'll take two generations.
No you wont, the only reason you had all that trade with china was because you labled yourselves as the door to Europe. Without the EU you are a door to nowhere. Its the french that will have to expand their docks to compensate now.

Re: May to reopen deal talks with EU
We'd run rings round them by slashing taxes,
Nice thought but you will loose business going out of the EU, so you will either have to borrow lots of money or raise taxes to compensate for tax revenue.
slashing welfare
ya even if you do welfare expenditures will increase because of the lost jobs from failed businesses.
run up the pirate flag
Quite possibly because poor people who lost their jobs and have low welfare sometimes need to steal to survive.

Re: UK and EU have a deal
the full text of the deal isn't published yet. There are some rumors there are no tarifs that's good since the Brit's have a deficit with the EU. Yea im rooting for the EU. But what i really want to know is what they did with financial transactions packages services and the like. Its where the Brit's are strong, and need a bit of knocking down. And hurrah for the Irish for getting that open border with n Ireland. Wouldn't want any new bombings now would we.

Re: UK and EU have a deal
The UK was more resistant to EU boats fishing in or near their territorial waters.
Yea so they can tell their people they accomplished something meaningful. But in reality what they gained is 150 million per year more to their economy not allot compared to the British economy.
The worst blow to the Brit's would be loosing their financial market, London was kind of the financial Hub of the EU.
