It will be interesting to see if the Military Oath of Office becomes an issue as well as the built in conflict found in oath taken by National Guard troops.

As expected, the wall serves the purpose of cutting US Property owners off from part of their property but serves no purpose in stopping illegal immigration. I realize this may be new information for over half of the people elected to Congress but the US has rivers. And rivers often reach into the interior of the US. And even when the river is on a border there are often boat ramps that also have direct access to the interior of the US over things called roads. And sometimes there are things called piers that people can even walk on that in turn connect to things called roads that go into the interior of the US. And the US has more than one border.
Like I said, I imagine this is all news to over half of those elected to Congress and somewhat less than half of the people who voted for our President elect so it will take time for reality to seep in. Aeons based on the evidence so far.

It is even more absurd in reality. The wall or fence needs to be built where the base is stable enough to support such a structure. Often that means it is some considerable distance from the river itself meaning it runs right through someone's property and cuts off direct access to that part of the property that's on the far side of the wall.
There are also recreational lakes and those lakes have boat ramps and those boat ramps connect to roads and there are boat ramps and docks on private property that also connect to roads and even ferry crossings like this one.
And don't forget we have other borders that are not fenced as well as a bunch of big ass rivers that open onto the Gulf of Mexico.

How the Wall will be a success
While the Trump Wall is a truly stupid idea when considered for controlling immigration it certainly is a brilliant idea when considered as yet another way to get all the utterly ignorant US citizens to move money from their pockets into the pockets of a select few rich folk. Fortunately the US citizenry is so willfully ignorant that many will applaud getting raped yet again.
But it is still just a small raping.
Tens of millions of dollars will get passed out to the US construction industry that will likely then subcontract the work out to the local workers who will in turn send those wages south to their relatives in Mexico and Central America. This should be one of our more successful foreign aid projects.

Actually, care is better in almost every truly developed nation with the single exception of the United States. We are the outlier in that area.
But yes, Jesus did charge us the feed the hungry, heal the sick, shelter the homeless, clothe the naked, protect the weak. What Jesus did not command us to do is make money feeding the hungry, make money healing the sick, make money clothing the naked, make money sheltering the homeless, make money protecting the weak.
The other factor is that immigrants come here not for welfare but rather to work; a fact that seems to have been missed by the Trumpettes.

POTUS vs Trump Inc.
So far I have still not seen the details of how the separation between POTUS and Trump Inc will be carried out. Are there any details on that available? What is the status of the audit that was in process even before the election? Will the financial material that was promised including tax returns ever be made public?

Speaking of mockery
One thing that can be said about the Trump Presidency is that not since Ronald Regan and before that Tricky Dick have we had a President that will provide so much free ammunition for mockery. LBJ may have come close when it comes to narcissism but only close.

Past Presidents have had enemies lists, have been annoyed by what public figures said about them but were also bright enough to at least try to keep their feelings hidden. They realized that speaking out publicly when they were mocked in word or cartoon or comedy skit would simply provide additional materials to be used to ridicule themselves.
It does not seem Trump is bright enough to realize that. He seems to think responses like those directed at Meryl Streep make him look Presidential instead of sounding like the kiddie on the playground saying "I'm rubber you're glue...".

I disagree somewhat about what is sad.
il Donald really has read the reactions of his support base nearly perfectly. Back to the nearly soon.
First, I would expect any intelligence agency worth it's salt to gather as much compromising information as possible about all potential people in power. That of course includes those in power in their own nation as well as those in power or positions of influence in other nations; friend or foe. That's simply their job description. Ask J Edgar.
Second, Trump was quite right when he said he could literally shot someone on the street and not lose any support. His base would almost certainly find that the Duke's testamony that He never shot nobody what didn't need shootin was adequate defense.
We have had lots of Presidents that have also had affairs even while in office so what I find really sad is that exposure of salacious videos might actually get the President in trouble with his base. His base seems so out of touch with reality that stuff like screwing around would be an issue while constant lying, misrepresentation, prejudice, bigotry, racism, ultra nationality, financial incompetency, narcissism, cruelty and dishonesty don't even ruffle a feather.
And that may be where il Donald misread his support base.
