Same-sex Marriage
Donald Trump has claimed he's okay with same-sex marriage, calling it settled law by way of SCOTUS decisions.
Do we take him at his word, or do we 'look into his heart' as KellyAnne Conway suggests, and try to divine his true feelings on the matter?
Do you, Faith, think you know his mind on this matter, as you seem to know his mind on so many other things?

Re: At least so far the Trump Presidency has offered lots of humor
It seems that some audience members aren't ready to laugh along with Trump's 'comedy gold'. This time, it's different.
Trumpers Tryand Failto Silence Stand-Up Comics
But other comedians have been subject to in-their-face hate from Trump lovers. One of the most disturbing incidents occurred recently in a New York City comedy club when comedian Eman El-Husseini told some Trump jokes. Instantly a man yelled out, Yeah Trump! in an effort to disrupt her. A few minutes later when El-Husseini mentioned she was Muslim, a person sitting with the original heckler yelled, You are all terrorists! And then added, No one wants to convert to your Islam! The two hecklers were escorted out of the club when they refused to stop interrupting the comedian but only after they threatened the club manager.

Re: At least so far the Trump Presidency has offered lots of humor
True, but not the point of the essay. This time it's different because Trumpers aren't laughing along w/ the comics, they're feeling emboldened to trash the jokes even before they've finished the set-up.
I think this has a chilling effect on the whole 'political comedy' community.

Re: A Bit of Good News on Financial Advice
Just so everyone knows, these new rules only apply to retirement accounts (where people should not be gambling), not regular trading accounts (where people should be gambling if they are so inclined).
I work in the field, and our company already had most compliance issues resolved & we were already working on converting certain accounts our clients hold with us. It's not really a big deal.

Re: A Bit of Good News on Financial Advice
The law was needed to differentiate between retirement accounts & regular trading accounts since more people depend on self-directed accounts for their golden years. Before Reagan, very few people owned these types of accounts.
Good advisors explain to their clients that retirement accounts shouldn't be treated the same as a day-trading vehicle, but not all advisors are good.

Re: Scaramucci gone?
Jeff Sessions already looks like a White Walker, so we're all set!
I think Hugh Hewitt, poorly-healed burn victim, definitely looks like a
White Walker...

Re: The Kavanaugh Nomination
Not in the Democrat party that's for sure.
See, that's why I find it so hard to talk with conservatives. They know this is an insulting way to refer to my party, but they do it just to 'own the libs'. Why on earth should I try to have a meaningful conversation with someone like you?
You put on a good show, pretending to be interested in having some kind of interchange that might be informational. It's a sham the minute you use a phrase like this one.
We are the Democratic Party, and I'd appreciate just a little acknowledgement of that fact.

Re: The Kavanaugh Nomination
Would you favor your Democratic party making a list of new government mandates to combat global warming, (you know, the disaster we'll all face if the globe warms 1 degree over the next 10 years), and then putting that to a Democratic vote?
I'm not sure what your point is with this question, but political parties shouldn't be in the business of proposing national Propositions to be voted on during general elections. Are you talking about a system like we have here in California? Just to let you know, generally I am not a fan of our ability to vote on anything that gets enough signatures to be put on our ballot. I usually vote 'no' on all of them.
Also, I don't believe your excuse for the use of 'Democrat Party', unless you've lived in a cave since Limbaugh went on the air. But if you promise to use the correct term going forward, then I'll chalk it up to 'lesson learned'.

Re: The Kavanaugh Nomination
Frank Luntz, from 17 years ago? Yeah, I take his advice to the Democratic Party as just partisan polling.
And of course members of the party are offended, that's my point! They do it on purpose, all the conservative pundits, to 'own the libs'. That's a badge of honor for them. The emphasis on 'rat', just like Jeanine Pirro's slur 'demonrat', is meant to insult, not engage.
So why pretend you want some dialogue about an issue with us, while insulting us at the same time? That was my point.

Re: The Barr Letter on the Mueller Report
why tie Congress up and prevent them from doing more useful things rather than partisan political bickering?
Because unlike Republicans, it seems, Democrats can 'walk and chew gum' at the same time. 'Useful things' & constitutionally required oversight can be accomplished simultaneously.

Doesn't matter to 45*, the fear is the point.
Concentration camps? Doesn't matter. The cruelty is the point.
