Just out of curiosity, a question for our members in the US - is even Fox News reporting (with weasel words, to try to get Trump off the hook) that taking or injecting disinfectant is a really, really bad thing for their viewers to attempt ?
Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

I mean, ingesting disinfectant is bad enough - and I presume it’s the same in the States as it is here, that there are warning signs on the bottles telling you not to do it and to take your baby to A&E if they accidentally do it. But injecting it into the blood stream ??? maybe it will lead to a historically large (number 1) Darwin Awards. Enjoy

You know when I saw the news clip of Trump talking about sunlight and disinfectant my reaction was "This must be a fake video. Even he could NOT be saying that!!!!" I've only slowly realized that it may very well be true. That is just so scary. You guys down there gotta fix this!

My conclusion was that Trump is acting and talking stupid on purpose to placate his base and mock the educated elitists who urge us to fully trust science and reason in order to save our planet. This may blow your mind, but there was an evangelical "prophet" who was on record predicting Trump's victory a few years before it happened and he also predicted that Trump would fully become an evangelical himself during his (predicted) 2nd term. I know it all sounds contrived, but I see the evidence that this guy did predict Trump's victory (documented) a couple of years before he even announces he was running for president.

so your conclusion is that during a national emergency the president thought it would be cool to troll the people who are working to solve the problem? great leadership there. Seriously the guy is stupid and doesn't have the slightest clue as to how stupid he is. What is going to solve this problem aside from science and reason?

What is going to solve this problem aside from science and reason? Consensus and cooperation. Humans by nature will never simply do everything science tells them to do because we never listen to someone unless we trust them as a human and not just an expert.
