That's not the reason, Rigga, but thanks for tha response.
We'll have to agree to disagree, just keep in mind that my views are based on my perceived reasons for them hating us.
I don't support a lot of our military actions either, but that is not the reason they hate America.
Great, if only your govt gave a damn.
ABE: HOWEVER whatever their reason, why would we want to admit people who hate us into our country? /abe.
My views are not representative of all Aussies and I expect that the views vary from Muslim to Muslim too, hence the screening process. We are doing everything we can to not let the hateful/violent ones in.
Since (in my view) we are largely responsible both for creating the hatred and displacing the people I am uncomfortable, morally speaking, with not granting entry based solely on their home country. It's called taking responsibility for your actions.
It looks to me that the US is happy to invade/bomb Islamic nations, dragging the rest of the west in too, for its own economic benefit and then absolve itself of the consequences ie, refugees and increased terror threat.
To use an analogy, if I am responsible for burning my neighbours house to the ground, I'm an asshole if I turn him and his family away when they turn up on my door step looking for somewhere to stay.
If I grant you that the ideology is the source of their hatred, we are still at least partially responsible for the refugee crisis. If conservatives were as vocal about prevention of the problem as they are about not dealing with it, I'd have a lot more respect for their position.
