I'm just following the terminology on the videos.
I should have been clearer actually, I was referring to the tendency in general rather than your use of it.
Besides, hasn't the EU sort of made it all a "mega country?" Isn't that the whole point of the EU?
First of all, several countries in Europe are not part of the EU, Norway being an example.
Secondly, there are enormous differences between EU member countries at the legal level and even larger ones at the cultural level. They are simply not one "mega-country" in any realistic sense. Of course all the countries do have a politco-economic union now, but they are a long long way off from being like states in the US.
However I understand how it might seem like they are sort of a single country. I could go into more detail on how they are not, if you want.
