Summation
Summation: numerology is crap. It belongs in the ash heap of discarded ideas along with phrenology, phlogiston chemistry and all the rest.

Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

Numerology is indeed bollocks.
Even more so when:
(a) The numerologist gets the math regularly and demonstrably wrong; and
(b) Scientists (L'Acadmie des Sciences - the clue's in the name), got a committee to determine a standard length; scientists on the committee decided to choose a relatively constant distance - one quarter of the earth's circumference - then divide it by 10 million and call it a metre; and then the numerologist claims there is something remarkable and mystical about the fact that a quarter of the world's circumference divides exactly into 10 million metres.
But numerology is bollocks on every level in any event.

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Incorrect numerology is even worse
This thread is ample demonstration of the dangers of mixing bad math (incorrect numerology) with bad religion (pure BS) and multiplying it by total ignorance and delusions of competence and then squaring it by total incoherence.
It started out to be mildly entertaining, but as it continued to the point of pathology it became quite disturbing to see it displayed so blatantly.
