The politics on display here are among the most vindictive, petty, infantile behavior imaginable.First and foremost, an objective view is that the Republic direction on health care is out of touch with what most voters want. Secondly, the Republicans have yet to advance a plan that works for their own senators.As punishment for saying no to such plans, the administration threatens consequences for the state of Alaska. Early Wednesday, Trump took to Twitter to express displeasure with Murkowski's vote. By that afternoon, each of Alaska's two Republican senators had received a phone call from Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke letting them know the vote had put Alaska's future with the administration in jeopardy.

It is out of touch with their own rhetoric. They claim that they have to repeal Obamacare because it is failing, as defined by the lack of providers in many areas. Their solution? Get rid of regulations, mandates, and subsidies that prop up those markets which only ensures that they will fail. Their solution is to make it worse. Trump has yet to figure out that making deals to enrich himself is not the same as making deals that improve the lives of Americans.

So much for Il Donald's threats. Despite the rhetoric, several Republican senators have voted against the latest repeal.

Sadly I think any effort by dems, should they by some miracle regain house and senate and whitehouse, to improve the ACA, even for adding a "public option" is similarly doomed to fail. Unless people stand up and demand single payer state by state it will never happen.Because money in politics is against it.Sorry

If memory serves, this was going to be McCain's last term anyway. The Furor may regret saying that McCain was not a war hero.
