Yes, that's the question indeed. And you, long with most YECs, have nothing but a priori religious belief to bring to the discussion. Scientists, of all sorts, have solid evidence from many different lines of reasoning to back their conclusions. No belief needed, just solid evidence. And that evidence shows the YEC belief is wrong. RAZD has done a number of threads showing this evidence and there has been no refutation of what he has posted--just firmly-planted religious belief that says, "Not so! Can't prove it but not so!" Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge. Belief gets in the way of learning--Robert A. Heinlein In the name of diversity, college student demands to be kept in ignorance of the culture that made diversity a value--StultisTheFool It's not what we don't know that hurts, it's what we know that ain't so--Will Rogers If I am entitled to something, someone else is obliged to pay--Jerry Pournelle If a religion's teachings are true, then it should have nothing to fear from science...--dwise1 "Multiculturalism" demands that the US be tolerant of everything except its own past, culture, traditions, and identity. Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other points of view--William F. Buckley Jr.

The evidence on the "other side" is overwhelming and nobody but those with a priori religious beliefs think otherwise. The arguments you have presented have all been refuted, most many times over. In order to overturn scientific evidence, you need to understand the scientific issues and methods, and to bring contradictory evidence. So far you have not been able to do so. As an example, radiocarbon dating--you have to rely on a change in decay constants before and after the flood or the fall. There is no evidence for any such change. Further, there is no convincing evidence for either the flood or the fall. You can't explain one myth based on another myth--you need solid evidence. Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge. Why is it that only certain religious believers see things the way you do? Doesn't that seem to explain your entire approach to things, as you've admitted many times here. Whereas people of other faiths and no faith at all see an entirely different picture. Face it, you ignore evidence, make up seemingly plausible scenarios, refuse to entertain any evidence to the contrary, and proclaim victory. Reminds me of how the pigeon plays chess... Debating creationists on the topic of evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon; it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory. Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge. But you have! You have consistently ignored the dating issue, dismissing it with statements akin to "I can't show why, but its wrong." You have presented no real arguments against the several very detailed threads RAZD has posted, going to a lot of work, other than "I don't believe it." The dating issue alone disproves most of what you believe, so shouldn't you address it in some substantive manner? Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge. Belief gets in the way of learning--Robert A. Faith--don't forget to address post 34, which deals with the dating issue.
You can't just keep on ignoring dating as it won't go away, and your whole model depends on it. Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge. Creation "science" has no relation to real science other than dishonestly appropriating the name in hopes of stealing some of the good reputation science has built up over the centuries.
Just another example of their dishonesty. Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge. Belief gets in the way of learning--Robert A.
