Re: Senate Resolution to Condemn Trump on Foreign Policy
...the popular vote is a false representation ...
I don't know what to say.
You call liberals elitist but here you say outright that millions of Americans that don't agree with you don't deserve to count because only you are right.
So gerrymandering, racist ID laws, closing local voting precincts, and anything to keep down the votes of the wrong people is acceptable since you are one of the right people.
If you had done any research you would see that millions in urban areas vote for both major parties, minor parties, split votes among parties, etc.

Re: Senate Resolution to Condemn Trump on Foreign Policy
It's the Left that does the voter fraud.
Show evidence of enough voter fraud by Democrats to skew an election.
So you are fine with the Republican push to gerrymander to protect Republican politicians. Gerrymander instead of convince voters of Republican ideals or adjust Republican actions and programs to match the desires of the majority of voters.
Yes I know that Democrats also gerrymander but Faith considers Leftists the only problem in elections.
Sorry can't find instructions on putting in short links with summary titles
https://www.washingtonpost.com/...da-ff7faa680710_story.html
"This week a federal court struck down North Carolina's congressional maps after the state's Republicans conceded that they drew the maps to disenfranchise Democratic voters."
Because Republicans are divinely inspired to always be right so any human sense of fairness is useless.
Texas officials launched voter purge with big splash, little accuracy
"The state had been working on the analysis since March 2018, but it took the elections officials less than a day to spot glaring errors. By Tuesday, the original list of 95,000 had been cut to roughly 75,000 names."
After 9 months work by partisan Republicans, the working staff of elections boards protected the right to vote for 20% in three business days. How many more do the Republican fanatics want to unjustly rob of the right to vote?
"All 366 registered voters on the list sent to McLennan County election officials, for example, were incorrectly flagged and had already proven citizenship, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported."
"Florida sought to purge noncitizens from the voter rolls in 2012 and initially flagged 180,000 people. The number soon shrank to 2,600 and ultimately just 85 voters were taken off the rolls, according to the Tampa Bay Times."
Republicans want to keep people from voting using the weakest excuses.
I would be the poster boy of the stereotypical Republican but the Party has no morals left. All that matters now is staying in power regardless of morals, laws, or common sense.

Re: Calumniating Barr: the latest tactic
Have you actually read anything from Mueller's report?
A internet search for "Mueller report text" will pull up a large list of sites with the full report. I am trying to copy/paste quotes but can't get the software to cooperate.
I would recommend reading the Introduction to Volume II (pg 213 of 448).
Mueller makes a series of statements that lead to why he can't say Trump did or did not obstruct justice. His arguments are
1. Office of Legal Counsel issued opinion that sitting President cannot be indicted by Justice Department as undermining performance of executive branch.
2. While the President can't be indicted while in office, he can be investigated. The Mueller investigation took place while information was fresh.
3. "...we determined not to apply as approach that could potentially result in a judgment that the President committed crimes." Basically they intentionally avoided saying Trump committed crimes since he couldn't have a court case to legally defend himself (See point 1.)
4. (the BIG POINT) "...if we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, however, we are unable to reach that judgement."
Summary - Mueller can't indict sitting President nor can he accuse him since President can't defend self in trial. Facts show Mueller can't exonerate Trump.

Re: The cause it that the Trump Administration wants to cause maximum pain and suffering
Legal immigration is not working due to limits on the annual number of people. I found the article below at the Cato Institute website.
Immigration wait times doubled
I was amazed at the numbers involved. "Behind those immigrants who applied for green cards in 2018 stand nearly five million people waiting in the applicant backlog."
Meanwhile the birth rate in US has dropped to 1.78 births per woman compared to the standard stable population rate of 2.1 births per woman.
And our population is aging. We're up to about 38 years old as the median age.
Demographics of United States
Our economy needs younger people to do the work but we are not giving birth at a rate high enough.
We need to increase the number of legal immigrants and reduce the wait time. Since any immigrants (even the white ones from Europe or Commonwealth countries) will be different from Americans, our culture will change.

Re: The cause it that the Trump Administration wants to cause maximum pain and suffering
First, the biggest backlogs listed in the Cato Institute article are China, India, Mexico and Philippines. None are even close to majority Muslim.
Second, without immigration our population will get older and older and smaller and smaller. When you add in the Republican created Mega-Debt that is eating ever more of the federal budget, we will have to drastically cut everything, especially the military, unless we get more tax payers in to support our economy.
Third, if the right wing would put more effort into assimilation and less effort into demonization, then the 300 million Americans would teach the descendants of the immigrants to be Americans. From my experience, few third generations have more than a smattering of their ancestors language.

National Geographic story on Spanish Flu
National Geographic has a story on the impacts on timing and completeness of social distance on the Spanish Flu death rates.
How some cities "flattened the curve"
The little charts are tricky to read. You need to note where the brown box of social isolation starts relative to the steep climb in death rate. The bigger charts for Philadelphia and New York show the differences. Philadelphia started regulation when the death rate was already climbing and over 50 deaths per 100,000. New York started when the rate was just beginning to rise and barely registering per 100,000.
For us today the question is when to end social distancing. End too early and you could get an even worse death rate from the restart of the epidemic.

Re: Chicago area hospital drive-thru tests more people with antibodies than active virus
I have two sisters that are phlebotomists. They run the lab equipment to conduct the tests. Depending on lab location and other things, they may or may not take the blood samples. One works in hospital lab and occasionally takes samples. The other in commercial lab serving doctors’ offices and almost never takes samples. Phlebotomist may be more a technical distinction from lab tech based on training and licensing. I know both had post college training and need continuing education.

How do they tell which are Job to prove his faith in God and which are Job’s family to be wiped out to test Job?
