Faith writes:
Examples of how the Democrats once sounded a lot like Trump on the subject of needing better defenses against illegal immigration.
Democrats still think the US is in need of better defenses against illegal immigration.
1. You don't think "Democrats" represents a large group of people who all exactly agree on every subject, do you? Only a 5 year old would think such a silly thing.
Any significant group of people (like... more than 20. How many "Democrats" are there? millions???) will be divided on almost every topic. The idea that "Democrats" all think one thing (or even "Republicans" for that matter) is incredibly immature, at best.
2. It is quite possible to want better defense against illegal immigration and still be against building a dumb wall that won't do anything. In fact, if you really want "better defense against illegal immigration" you really should be be against building a wall. Building a wall will not provide any additional defense against immigration at all. In fact, it may cause more issues as some may see it as a "challenge" to get over or under. It will only waste money and resources that could be spent on defenses that actually could prevent more illegal immigration (like changing the policies so that there are better background checks done on applicants.)

Oh, gee, what a surprise, precisely what everyone (Trump base excepted) said after the summit and subsequent Mike Pompeo meetings.
That doesn't matter any more.
Trump's defeated ISIS. We're all safe.
No more need for a wall either, I guess...
My only question is: If all it took was Trump saying so, why didn't he just say it earlier?

If such a conversation was uninterrupted, it would provide infotainment to our brethren and sistren
Most brethren and sistren actually ignore the Great Debates they are not part of.
It's more infotainment to read posts you can actually reply and engage with if desired. Posting a comment in a different "peanut gallery" thread is better than nothing, but still less infotainment then posting directly into an active thread.
The purpose of a Great Debate is to provide a safer place for those who usually get the "pile-on" effect from many other posters.
And it's very good at doing that.
But providing better infotainment for others? No - not so much, it's actually kinda worse at that.

They kill a million babies a year so is that 3%?
How do you know how many abortions they do in a year?
Can you link to where you're getting this information?
Do you know of anybody who ever used any of the services other than abortion?
I would assume that if you can, indeed, link to where you got the above information, we can also find out how many customers PP had in total.
It's then simple math to figure out how many used the abortion services vs. their other services.
Ever heard of an adoption being arranged through PP?
Again, I bet your own source can tell us.

WHAT TRUMP SAID WAS VERY CLEAR AND VERY REJECTING OF WHITE SUPREMACISTS YOU LYING LEFTIST CREEP.
Yes, thanks again.
But I already fully understand that you're not very good at this whole "reasoned, fact-based argument" idea.
No need to provide more support for that.
What I'm wondering, is if you can actually show any facts that support this strange claim that Trump was rejecting white supremacists when all the available facts show that he was actually defending them.
Seems to me like your best avenue is more along the lines of:
"Sorry, Trump is an imbecile. In his reflexive attempt to fight against The Left, he accidentally sided with white supremacists. However, I assure you that this is entirely due to Trump's low intelligence and inability to think a step ahead about what he's actually saying. It doesn't actually mean he thought about siding with white supremacists - mostly because Trump rarely thinks. He generally simply reacts. Like a brainless, thoughtless, exposed nerve."
I wouldn't necessarily believe that either - because I think it's also clear that Trump has at least "somewhat" of a leaning towards white supremacists anyway. It's just the sort of foolish man he is.
But, really - I think that's your best out. I recommend further review after you've calmed down and an attempt to move in that direction.

I do understand, though, that when you don't have a real argument you may need to resort to the above display of ineffective pomposity.

I would suggest a hot cup of tea.
The heat prevents you from drinking it quickly - therefore you are forced to wait patiently while it cools enough to drink.
Judging by your recent demeanor, it would likely be the best thing you've done for your mind and soul for the last... I don't know... 50 years, maybe?
Highly recommended.
Or, if you're really interested in helping your soul, you could focus more on helping others instead of hurting them.
It really does help you sleep better at night - no guilt and the added benefit of knowing that you've been productive in the lives' of others.
If you insist on carrying on like this, I fear for your immortal soul.
If one focuses too much on unproductive negativity in life, it can tarnish your afterlife for the rest of eternity.
I can send you some literature if you'd like.

But the truth is something you cannot avoid, and you will be forced to face it sooner or later.
I'd change your ways now, really.
The path you're on right now - it's not leading to the destination you're hoping for.
It can't, mostly because that destination doesn't exist.
But, even if it did, you're doing it wrong.

It's really amazing how none of you can tell the truth about ANYTHING. Something has hold of your heads that twists everything. Well, that may be good for us since you misread everything including the prospects for the next election, just as you did the prospects for the 2016 election. So keep it up, stay stupid.
Let's paint a picture.
We have an entire group of calm, respectful people.
Then one person comes careening in, screaming and yelling about random ideas that don't even exist, coherent sentences are not a concern, and displays an inability to address anyone without including an insult.
If we're going to describe one of these two sides as 'having everything twisted in their heads' I think it's very clear to everyone who it is without even needing to actually say it.
When words do not match reality, even a child understands that something wrong is going on.
Your claims fall flat.
As such useless drivel tends to do.

I leave it to the floor to decide which one is a more accurate picture painted of the reality that's occurred.

"Cherry picking" is not the issue, if you claim an entire group of people to be calm and respectful, it only takes one example of one of them going into an emotional, profanity laced rant that would make an Origin-of-Species thumping middle school child blush, to make your statement 100% false. You don't agree?
Uh.. no.. .that's stupid.
Why would anyone take the saying "we have an entire group of calm, respectful people" to mean "you can not ever find anything any of these people have ever said to be un-calm or un-respectful?"
Have you ever met people?
No one alive has ever been "always calm" or "always respectful."
The bar your setting isn't met by any human ever in all of history.
Yet you seem to think it should exist on a message board on the internet? You're nuts.
Can we say that Jeffery Dahmer was an absolutely fine person because it was only a comparative few minutes of his several million minute long life where he killed and ate people?
Of course not.
Which brings us to the point of cherry-picking.
If you cherry-pick Jeffery Dahmer... of course you can find a few calm, respectful moments.
But if you take an unbiased, objective look... you see the truth... a terrible human being.
Now, if you cherry-pick the posts here... of course you can find a few un-calm, disrespectful moments.
But if you take an unbiased, objective look (as proven by the unbroken sample I've shown you)... you see the truth... a group of calm, respectful people.
Thank you for proving my point?
Does one of your calm, respectful people get a pass just because he lost his calmness and respectfulness just for one sentence?
Of course they do.
Just like I do.
Just like you do.
Just like Faith does.
But the problem is... Faith didn't just lose her calmness or respectfulness on one sentence... did she?
And... the people you quoted did... didn't they?
This is how people work.
This is how fair judgement works.
We don't fairly judge people by cherry-picking single things.
We fairly judge people by taking a large sample and describing the overall issue.
Most kids learn this before they even go off to kindergarten. It's sort of an ingrained thing that comes along with "any level of intelligence."
But I don't mind explaining it to you, if you need a refresher.
All it does is prove the point I'm making over and over and over again... So again - thank-you.
"The floor"? A floor that consists of nothing more than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's base?
I think you've lost it.
Perhaps you should take a moment, calm down, and try to re-assess the situation.
I would suggest putting the shovel down. You're deep enough.

Anyone who says he's a Christian and his beliefs were handed down is not really a Christian.
Why such disdain for something being 'handed down?'
Almost all knowledge is handed down.
Anything where one person is teaching another... or someone writes it down so others can read/learn about it later... is all "handing down" knowledge.
Happens in science all the time.
How else can religious beliefs be passed on to others?
Religious visions from God?
1. If this is possible, why do all claims always show the person having knowledge "handed down" to them beforehand anyway? (Going to church, being aware of the religion through previous experience...)
2. Let me know when you can show this actually happens and not just claim that it does...
