The man makes some silly and lamentable mistakes but he's pretty honest and straightforward. So what am I to believe? Trump today:
I didn’t speak to Matt Whitaker about the Russia investigation, Trump told reporters this morning, I don’t know Matt Whitaker. Matt Whitaker has a great reputation and that’s what I wanted. Trump to Fox News:
Last month, Trump told Fox News, I know Matt Whitaker. Trump Denies Knowing Whitaker, Who He Met a Dozen Times Why would Trump brag about this great guy last month, put him in the spotlight by replacing Sessions with him, then back away from even knowing who he is after the media exposes this guy's skeleton-ridden closet? He's a weasel, that's why. Weasel words. Weasel actions. Remember when Trump was a Putin fan, yucking it up in the green room before a TV appearance? Then later he had to admit they had never met in person before Trump's installation. Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin on 60 Minutes: The Real Story | Time
I got to know him very well because we were both on 60 Minutes, we were stablemates, he said, then he seemed to reference the show’s ratings. We did well that night. The remark drew a rebuke from former HP head Carly Fiorina, who noted that she had met Putin not in a green room for a show, but in a private meeting. But both Trump and Fiorina’s remarks weren’t entirely on the mark. Trump and Putin did not meet in a green room for the show, which does not have the typical off-stage waiting area for guests that a talk show has. In fact, they weren’t even on the same continent.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but Trump didn't REPLACE Sessions with Whitaker. Whitaker was merely in line to be acting AG when the seat was vacated. This is a time-limited interim position until a replacement is chosen. He hasn't been chosen and may not be chosen. You are wrong, as usual. Whitaker was not 'in line' as you put it. Would it be so hard for you to research this for yourself? Chief of Staff is not next in line. Don't make stuff up. Deputy Attorney General - Wikipedia

I'm taking this from radio pundits I've been listening to lately. That's your first mistake. Turn off the radio (or tune it to music) and read a newspaper!
Are you also disputing that he's merely a temporary acting AG? No.

From all the commentary I've been hearing it certainly is perfectly legal and constitutional. We keep telling you the 'commentary' you rely on is lying to you. Why do you want that? In addition, you never answered my question about Trump: what am I to believe? You seem to have a way of discerning truth from lies as he bumbles through the Presidency. So I'll ask again, do I believe him when he said he absolutely knew Whitaker when Fox interviewed him last month, or do I believe him now that he claims not to know him at all?

They aren't lying, Yes. Yes they are. According to you they said Whitaker was 'next in line', and that's wrong, as I told you.
I believe both That's impossible if you take what he said, one month apart, in context. One month ago he was trying to impress his Fox friends with his deep personal respect for Whitaker. Then, when things are going sideways on the appointment, he weasels away from Whitaker as fast as he can. Weasel words, weasel actions. Just like with Putin.

The commentary I've heard has only said that Trump has the right to appoint the acting AG. That's a far cry from your original claim:
From all the commentary I've been hearing it certainly is perfectly legal and constitutional. Seems to me it would be pretty silly if he could name Sessions and then his permanent successor and not be allowed to name the interim AG as well. He didn't like the politics of the next guy in line, so he chose one he likes better, what's wrong with that? So, yes, "the president appoints an acting AG" is true as far as it goes. But you very well know there are constitutional constraints on that appointment, as well as many other appointments the president is allowed to make. The facts of this particular appointment matter in the larger context, which is why most experts are questioning this action by this president.
Yeah he thought Whitaker was fine and then he changed his mind. Big deal Yes, yes it is a big deal. We expect a competent president to vet his appointments. And you very well know this is not his first nomination to go down in flames.

Roseanne Barr was raked across the coals by Republicans because she made light of the national anthem a number of years back. Now its the Democrats taking shots against her because of her calling someone black who wasn't... Are you saying Valerie Jarrett isn't black? She is.
DNA testing indicated that Jarrett is of 49% European, 46% African, and 5% Native American descent. Valerie Jarrett - Wikipedia And, the reason Roseanne was fired wasn't just that one tweet. I was at a taping last year, and there's so much more to the story than what's been generally reported.

Vet a short term acting appointment beyond the basic qualifications that everybody recognizes? Nonsense. Shut down by the Federal Trade Commission for defrauding thousands of hopeful inventors, the scam patent firm whose advisory board included Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker now faces a criminal probe. The Wall Street Journal confirmed the existence of an active FBI investigation into World Patent Marketing late Friday, as new evidence comes to light regarding the role in scam played by the man tapped to succeed Jeff Sessions, who resigned Wednesday at the request of President Donald Trump. FBI Investigating Scam Patent Firm That New AG Advised | Courthouse News Service This guy is under FBI investigation, yet you believe he's been properly vetted? You're incredibly nave.

It's nothing but fingerpointing and hatemongering and character assassination from your side, it's going to destroy the country What's destroying the country is willful ignorance of truth, and since you admit maybe half of what I say is the truth, it looks like your kind taking a wrecking ball to the United States. We used to be able to debate based on facts in this country. Folks like you make that impossible these days.

Certainly true of the Clintons, yes. Uranium deal while Bill was getting hundreds of thousands for a talk there. If you truly believe this, Faith, then you must be absolutely outraged by general Flynn accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars from Turkey & not disclosing that information, right?
"Mr Flynn also failed to register as a lobbyist for the Turkish government while he was seeking White House security clearance. In 2016, his consultancy Flynn Intel Group was paid $530,000 for lobbying on behalf of the Turkish government - work which required him to register as "a foreign agent"." Ex-Trump aide Mike Flynn 'offered $15m by Turkey for Gulen' - BBC News So, Faith, please tell me what you think. You condemn this too, right?

Hi Faith, California resident here, since 1981. What folks are telling you here is true. We have a budget surplus and our new governor has great plans for our people going forward. I also live in a very conservative part of CA (McCarthy is my rep), so I hear your kind of complaints & dubious facts all the time, from residents who have been here in CA a lot longer than I. When I ask them why they stay in California if it's so awful, all they can reply is "the weather". Lol.
California rivals most countries in economic production, quality of life, and freedom of thought. BTW, most of us in this part of CA own guns (even me!) appreciate our latinx population, and attend church regularly (not me!) Take this however you may, but I'm a Californian telling you it's really just fine out here. P.S. I love the number of your message I'm responding to, how ironic! Edited by ooh-child, : No reason given.

Won't you be disappointed when people who understand these things absolve Trump of any hint of criminal intention. Who is QAnon? The Storm Conspiracy, Explained
A new conspiracy theory called “The Storm” has taken the grimiest parts of the internet by, well, storm. Like Pizzagate, the Storm conspiracy features secret cabals, a child sex-trafficking ring led (in part) by the satanic Democratic Party, and of course, countless logical leaps and paranoid assumptions that fail to hold up under the slightest fact-based scrutiny. However, unlike Pizzagate, the Storm isn’t focused on a single block of shops in D.C., or John Podesta’s emails. It’s much, much bigger than that. Faith, do you believe Q is really JFK Jr.?

I hope hope hope they get brought to their deserved justice in the end. Again, Faith, I'm really curious - do you believe Q is JFK Jr.? Is Q the one who will bring this 'deserved justice in the end'?

None of that attitude is in the film. If you haven't seen it, how do you know?
