Re: Red baiting
Information for information's sake?
Information for the sake of LEARNING SOMETHING!
Also for the sake of learning FACTS and thus understanding REALITY.
The discussion is about Communism.
No, that's not what you said! In Message 5326 (my emphasis added):
Faith writes:
I don't know anything about what Castro replaced so I'm not glossing over everything. I'm talking about Cuba. Why can't people jus stick to the topic.
You just lied to me! Yet again!
Why do you constantly lie about almost everything and anything you can? What do you possibly think you could accomplish with such obvious, flagrant, easy-to-check lies?
All you have accomplished has been to thoroughly discredit yourself and everything you say and support. You have even less credibility than Trump does.

Jewish people know that Bernie Sanders is a Communist. they grew up with guys like him. Michael Savage and Mark Levin are two who did. One of them calls him "the Bolshevik," the other the "Old Red" I think or something like that. He can get away with denying it with ignorami who aren't Jewish.
EvC-ers know that Faith is a red-baiter. they've had lots of contact with her. Jonf and DWise1 are two who did. One of them calls her "the wing nut," the other "the redneck" I think or something like that. She can get away with denying it with ignorami who aren't EvC-ers.

Re: Red baiting
As usual you're confused.
Did Bernie Sanders 'Honeymoon' in Soviet Russia? | Snopes.com
quote:
Mostly False
What's True
Jane Sanders and then-Mayor Bernie Sanders traveled to the Soviet Union shortly after their wedding as part of a government trip to establish a sister-city relationship between Burlington, Vermont, and Yaroslavl. Sanders has previously joked that this trip was a "strange honeymoon."
What's False
This trip was not a "honeymoon" in the traditional sense and did not occur during the "height of the cold war." The purpose of this trip was to establish a sister city in Russia, not for the newlyweds to enjoy a romantic getaway. Bernie and Jane Sanders took their real honeymoon in St. Lucia in the Caribbean the following year.
So, no, it's not a clue about his political affiliation.
You do realize that per that "logic" Trump's a commie?

Re: Red baiting
There is no such thing as a democratic socialist and Sanders is known to be a Communist.
LOLz, so Wrong on both counts, the world reality contradicts you once again. You live in a fantasy world.

abe: Social democracy - Wikipedia
quote:
Social democracy is a political, social and economic philosophy that supports economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a liberal democratic polity and a capitalist-oriented economy. The protocols and norms used to accomplish this involve a commitment to representative and participatory democracy, measures for income redistribution, regulation of the economy in the general interest and social welfare provisions.[1][2][3] Due to longstanding governance by social democratic parties during the post-war consensus and their influence on socioeconomic policy in the Nordic countries, social democracy became associated with the Nordic model and Keynesianism within political circles in the late 20th century.[4][5] It has also been seen by some political commentators as a synonym for modern socialism[6][7][8] and as overlapping with democratic socialism.[9][10]

How to handle the problem
White House Removes Public Health Experts from Coronavirus Discussions - Union of Concerned Scientists
quote:
The White House held dozens of meetings about coronavirus response that excluded government experts because the discussions were unnecessarily classified over the objections of HHS Secretary Alex Azar, reports Reuters. Experts were not just barred from speaking openly about what we knew about the emerging pandemic. Apparently, they weren’t even allowed in the room.
It is not normal to classify discussions about a response to a public health crisis, an unnamed official from the Republican George W. Bush administration told the wire service. Yet this is President Trump’s approach to nearly every public health and environmental threat: find some way to exclude the experts, stop them from speaking publicly, and make decisions in a vacuum. The deliberate sidelining of public health experts and science leads to bad policy, and ultimately, to more sickness and death.

Funny, Bernie never said that.
But Bernie DID say that:
National Review writes:
What happened and existed in the Soviet Union was not socialism. It was authoritarian Communism, Bernie replied, inducing a bunch of his historically illiterate fans to applaud.
And Communism, Bernie goes on, whether in Cuba, whether in the Soviet Union or whether in other countries was marked by totalitarianism, was marked by throwing millions of people into the Gulag.
Which is the same idea. Always insisting that the way it has actually been done is a mistake, that true Marxism wouldn't do that. But every place it has been tried, it does just that. Murder dissidents, throw them into prison etc.

I don't know if I'm a McCarthyite or not. Don't know enough about the investigations he did. There are probably elements of it I would disagree with. But as for the basic idea that Communism is UnAmerican yes I certainly agree with that.

Re: Red baiting
You doubt it because you reject everything that doesn't fit your worldview. Reality doesn't matter to you. It's from Snopes. They have a well-earned reputation for accuracy and impartiality. They expend lots of effort maintaining that.
It's just the facts. Bernie traveled to Russia on business. Not a honeymoon.
Your link offers a quote from Trump’s national security advisor calling the trip a honeymoon. What does he know?
A trip immediately after a wedding is not necessarily a honeymoon. But Bernie's later trip to St. Lucia was his honeymoon.
ABE Is there some issue with him socializing?
