Elizabeth Warren?
rramos writes:

I like Bernies ideas, but he's just too old, and too much of a one issue candidate.

How about less old, more than one issue, and uniquely, exactly, how to fund such reforms?

Re: Elizabeth Warren?
I am inherently compelled to support Warren because she address the 'how'.

Apparently, at least in my life of 61 years, this only happens a very few times a century.

All others are slingin' bullshit, until they address the 'how.'

Hold that thought
AZPaul writes:

Right now I feel more affection for Pocahontas and Beto than the rest but all that can change.

Beto is just another jerk off clueless white dude who thinks millennials remember JFK.

I might consider Beto once he 'actually' discovers and has a plan, including an inhospitable environment and income inequality, which nearly all the white men running refuse to even discuss (except Bernie).

The daughter and I obviously supported O'Rourke against Cruz when we lived in hell (aka Texas), but he needs to conquer his own cowardice before he should try to conquer the nation.

At this moment, he is what Holden Caufield referred to as phony. Perhaps he just has the right heart but needs some lessons on how to win elections from Kamala Harris.

Re: Another Economic Factor for Voting Patterns
Yup, my favorite state is an outlier, but hey, soon as the daughter and I moved here, the whole place turned solid blue at the federal level, a feat no state outside of New England can boast -- and were in "flyover" country.

Please pardon my previous generalizations concerning West Texas, as there are good people thereabout, they are just vastly outnumbered. In my defense, the simple act of moving 360 miles away immediately ended an 8 year bout of clinical-grade depression, and ended the Nummular Dematitis I have been battling since the wife died. Sorry if I painted the source of my misery with too broad a brush.

Now to address the topic at hand:

Progressives

Warren - too intelligent for misogynists.
Sanders - too much moral integrity for Evangelicals.
Gabbard - too much love for Syrian dictators and Indian Nationalists
De Blasio - too much blotivating, don't you have a job already?

Maybes

Castro - for intelligent misogynists, should any exist. Still like the platform of this recent convert.
Gillabrand - decent but invisible. Not heard much about income inequality and climate change

Big Donor Whores More than Prepared to sell out the Poor and Middle Class

Harris - Comcast among top ten, prepare for continued abuse by monopolies.
Biden - proud supporter of the incarceration nation, credit card ripoffs, increasing student debt through bankruptcy laws, and the war on "drugs." provided it does not interfere with pharmaceutical company profits. Worse candidate than Hillary.
Booker - funded by Wall Street, nuff said.
Buttegeig - "All lives matter" - yeah right. At least he is somewhat able to take responsibility unlike all other "centrists" (lookin' at you Biden) Still a big donor whore who will screw over the 99%.

Nobodies

O'Rourke - discovering oneself should be accomplished before running for office.
Williamson - the reason I moved away from California at 22, Loveable but looney.
Hickenlooper - too stupid to know Colorado's prosperity is largely due to marijuana legalization. Also platform solely consists of bashing "socialism" whatever it means to his addled mind.
Delaney - see previous sentence, Charlie must have donated his eyes.
Ryan - another crazy lookin' white dude, not impressed.
Klobuchar - "One must conquer oneself before one can conquer the world" - ancient Hindu saying.
Inslee - glad someone is addressing climate change but I need someone who can address more than one issue.
Swallwell - yeah Biden is too old, is Sanders? Seems miles ahead of you on stage as he can speak about more than one topic.

Probably forgot the rest, which says something.

Last chance suckers, AOC turns 35 on Oct, 13, 2024.

Youngest by far, Teddy beat JFK by a few months, at 41.

Even if AOC sat out a second Warren or Sanders term as VP (an ideal scenario}, she would be 39 when she becomes President.

Poor bastards won't know what hit em'. Did you see the Cohen testimony?

Howard Hutchinson (libertarian for 19th state rep for NM back in 88). Amount $50 (I was his campaign manager).

Bernie Sanders $35 for 2016. $25 for 2020. Elizabeth Warren $50.
Mike Gravel $1 for the ticket to great entertainment in the debates, didn't work.

That's it.

Hey Bernie, Here's Your VP
Killer Mike is dead-on. I'll let Nina Turner herself show why:

Consider a few more suggestions:

Treasury: Elizabeth Warren (everyone's second choice for President, including me, if she accepts})
Commerce: Andrew Yang
Homeland Security: Julian Castro
Defense: Tulsi Gabbard (serve Hillary and her McCarthyism right)

Attorney General: Kamala Harris
Press Secretary: Marianne Williamson

Court Jester: Beto O'Rourke

If they misbehave, just have Turner remind them who they work for.

Re: Hey Bernie, Here's Your VP
Of the several individuals mentioned only two have any intention of remaining in office after 2020, namely Senators Warren (MA) and Turner (OH). Warren's seat is reasonably safe but Turner's is riskier.

If you feel either seat is too valuable to lose, feel free to offer any suggestions, I am fully aware of your concern regarding recapturing the Senate.

Potential VPs for Sanders
Here is a list I just found on YouTube:

Pramila Jayapal
Tammy Baldwin
Nina Turner
Tulsi Gabbard
Abdul El-Sayed
Rashida Tlalb
Andrew Yang
Keith Ellison
Beto O'Rourke
Andrew Gillum
Elizabeth Warren
Ro Khanna

Eliminating currently sitting Senators eliminates Baldwin and Warren as Turner is not currently holding office (my error).

O'Rourke is problematic to say the least.

Current House representatives include Jayapal, Gabbard, Tlaib, and Khanna. Gabbard is not running for reelection, Jayapal represents Seattle, and Khanna represents the South SF Bay. There is little danger of any Republican flipping their seats. Talib's district is less secure

So here is the "safe" list:

Jayapal
Turner
El-Sayed
Gabbard
Yang
Ellison (who is currently AG for MN)
Gilum
Khanna

Julian Castro is a possibility as well, Kamala Harris is a good fit for AG but Ellison is less problematic.

My current choice remains Turner, just watch the video.

Of course, anyone "safe" is also a good choice for the Cabinet. El-Sayed is perfect for Health and Hunan Services.

Any other suggestions? Remember, Bernie is 78 and he just had a heart attack. His VP choice is quite important.

One Way to Look at it
The current healthcare system in the United States requires at least 30,000 deaths per year due to lack of insurance coverage.

The Aztec Empire required 30,000 deaths to appease Huitzilopochtli so the sun would rise again and Tlaloc to make sure the rain continued.

The modern equivalent is appeasing the health insurance industry to keep their unnecessary welfare queen jobs and the pharmaceutical industry to keep their Martin Shkreli-level profits.

At least the Aztecs mainly sacrificed captives caught in battle rather than their own citizens.

So who supports medicare for all rather than the new improved version of the Aztec Religion?

Bernie Sanders
Elizabeth Warren (maybe)

When it comes to "Democratic centrists" just follow the money........and the body count.

Re: New Hampshire Primary is Tomorrow
Percy writes:

I have decided to vote in the Democratic primary. I don't know how I will vote tomorrow, but right now (and this could change) it's between Klobuchar and Buttigieg.

Mayor Pete is the biggest phony total dirtbag politician since, well Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

i believe your media diet may need more fiber.

Did you know TYT (the Young Turks) uncovered the story behind Buttegeig's demotion of the black Chief of Police due to his big buck donors insisting on white leadership of the police force? How about that police shooting of a black man under his watch and without the body cam footage afterwards? Wonder how that worked out?

Oh yeah, half the black cops in the great metropolis of South Bend, Indiana left over his "leadership."

This is just one example of why Buttegeig has no path to the black vote and therefore no path to the nomination.

Well, one would not know this if one's media diet was solely limited to CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Washington Post or whatever propaganda outlet is funded by those whose souls are traded as marketplace commodities, upper middle class twits screwing over the less financially fortunate on behalf of their billionaire masters, and therefore in general all identifiable minorities of any flavor.

There is an alternative media - the aforementioned TYT, Ring of Fire, Rational National, Humanist Report, etc. and that's just utube, In print you also have Salon, Slate, Vox, Mother Jones, Daily Kos, and 'scary' Jacobin, and even Politico (which is pretty centrist), or even 528 or RCP for polling averages.

I am not necessarily asking you to buy into my attitude as it is unique, just that you "weigh and consider."

As to who is better - Klobuchar or Buttegieg, well if you insist, Klobuchar has a lot less baggage. Still gonna' screw over the workers in favor of that trust fund baby donation money, but at least she is honest about it.
