Re: Protests and counter protests at Islamic conference
Is Trump not in office?
And didn't the GOP have control of both houses of Congress for the first two years? Basically, except for the very beginning before he had completely subverted them, they were ready and eager to rubber-stamp anything that Trump wanted. And the oversight and judicial committees were controlled by the GOP, so they completely failed to perform their constitutional duties and provided absolutely no oversight of the Executive.
Just exactly how is that supposed to "stolen" the first two years from Trump? If anything, the only "political subterfuges" were committed by the GOP against the country.
The only time that I know of that the GOP-controlled Congress went against Trump was in the very beginning, before he had subverted them. One of the very first things that Trump did was to remove all sanctions against Russia, basically his first big thank-you gift to Putin. Congress blocked that move and did so by such a big margin that it was obviously even to Trump that they would easily override a veto of that bill. So Trump had to sign the bill into law, grumbling mightily as he did so.
So then exactly how is his first term supposed to have "been stolen from him by political subterfuges unprecedented in history"? Especially compared to how Congress had worked so hard against every single thing that Obama had tried to do, including any kind of infrastructure bills that should have broad bipartisan support? Compared to the unprecedented political subterfuges that Obama had to suffer, Trump's had a leisurely stroll in the park.

Re: Protests and counter protests at Islamic conference
It is not checks and balances, it is pure political obstructionism.
But that's exactly what "checks and balances" are: institutions and procedures that obstruct the actions of government parties when they get out of line.
And Trump's illegal actions should be obstructed.
And Trump's morally bankrupt policies should be obstructed.
And Trump's basic ignorance and incompetence should be called out for what it is.

Hard as it is to fathom, Mr President, just because you’re the leader of the free world doesn’t entitle you to a free pass. Unfortunately, just a free press. -- Neil Cavuto

Re: Killing kids
Newsflaah:Faith refuses to condemn killing sick kids! IOIYAR.
You're right, at least some of them are legal.
quote:
Consider the case of Marie and her 13-year-old son. They were visiting Boston in 2013 when the boy fell ill. He was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia, a genetic condition for which he’s been treated at Boston Medical Center. She filed for medical deferred action almost immediately and they were approved in 2017. The status, valid for two years, meant she could get a work permit and he would be granted MassHealth and afford access to life-saving care. She is required to bring him into BMC for monitoring every two months; otherwise acute problems might arise that can result in brain damage or kidney failure, she said. Last week, Marie got a denial letter from US Citizenship and Immigration Services after filing for a renewal. They were instructed to leave within 33 days or else risk deportation.
Mariela Sanchez from Guatemala is the mother of one of the children..

Sixteen-year-old Jonathan Sanchez entered the country in 2016 with his parents. They left their home country of Honduras seeking treatment in Boston for the teen's cystic fibrosis. The Sanchez family has extended their tourist visas in the past and last year, applied for medical deferred action, hoping to remain in the country to continue what they say is lifesaving treatment.
"I'll probably die because in my country, there's no treatment for CF [cystic fibrosis]," Sanchez said, when asked what would happen if he goes back to Honduras. "Doctors don't even know what's the disease. The only ones who can help me are here in the United States."

It's a moderately widely held view among moronis americanus. The ones who think the entire government must be dedicated to only one task at a time.

Re: Protests and counter protests at Islamic conference
You continue to be very good at rationalizing the unconscionable. The checks and balances are built into our institutions. All the Left is doing is political obstructionism. It's incessant, has given not one moment of grace to the man, and it's all lies: Trump does NOT deserve it. He has not committed any illegal actions, that's all fake news, completely made up. A long investigation tried to prove illegal actions and proved absolutely not even one. And the "morally bankrupt policies" are nothing but Leftist political lies. You don't like his policies, that's all. They are perfectly reasonable conservative policies for the most part and the Left hates them for that reason only and won't even try to be reasonable about it or seek discussion or compromise, it's all stonewalling and obstruction. Everything you've said is nothing but political bias, and that is NOT checks and balances, that's arrogant Leftism and nothing else.

Re: Try honesty Faith, you might even like it.
Being in office while every moment his political enemies are telling lies about him in the media and calling his every move illegitimate when it's not and threatening to impeach him or have him jailed, supporting an investigation based on nothing but lies only to harass him and impede his work, refusing to cooperate with anything he wants to do even though they themselves have held the same opinions. THAT is how his term has been stolen from him.

Being in office while every moment his political enemies are telling lies about him in the media
like the lies about his place of birth and secret religion?
refusing to cooperate with anything he wants to do even though they themselves have held the same opinions.
they're under no obligation to cooperate with him, they don't work for him. Where were your cries for cooperation when Obama was president?

List two examples. Include the evidence that liberals "held the same opinions". Remember that the zero-humanity policy isn't a carryover from Obama, as I pointed out a few days ago.
If you respond at all, I predict it will be an easily debunked lie.
Hey, howzabout killing them kids? They're not citizens, anything goes, right?

There is no comparison with Obama's situation.
Obama was not treated at all as Trump is treated. He was criticized in the particular ways you brought up but I believe they are true of him. He went to a "Christian" church whose pastor did nothing but hate America, that's hardly a Christian church; and he bowed to Muslim leaders and obviously favored them, even apologized for America. Obama was a traitor in my opinion. Oh and his own Kenyan grandmother said she saw him in the hospital there when he was born. All the rationalizations of that one are laughable.
But he was not hounded and harassed as Trump is from one moment to the next, the press was on his side instead of incessantly lying about him, insinuating all sorts of illegalities he did not commit, inventing an investigation into phony misdeeds and so on and so forth. Comparing Trump's situation to Obama's is way out of proportion, there is no moral equivalence whatever.

Congress many times voted for a wall on the border; those who now object to it and do everything they can to undermine the effort voted for it.

Re: Killing kids
It appears that they are not backtracking very far.
quote:
The agency, part of the Department of Homeland Security, had sent letters informing those who had asked for a renewal, which the immigrants must make every two years, that it was no longer entertaining such requests. The letters said that the immigrants must leave the country within 33 days, or face deportation.
On Monday, the agency said in a statement that while limiting the program was appropriate, officials would complete the caseload that was pending on August 7.
The statement said that deportation proceedings had not been initiated against anyone who had received the letter. However, it did not say whether it would continue to grant immigrants extensions to stay in the country or whether the program would be continued after current applications are processed.
When asked for clarification, an agency official said the agency is taking immediate corrective action to reopen previously pending cases for consideration.
Whether a very limited version of deferred action will continue forward at U.S.C.I.S. is still under review. More information will be forthcoming, said the official, who only agreed to speak on background.
Translation: we're going to wait until the hullabaloo dies down and off 'em on the down low.
And Faith will be cheering them on.

Re: Try honesty Faith, you might even like it.
Congress many times voted for a wall on the border; those who now object to it voted for it.
We've done this lie recently. Have you no memory? As predicted, long debunked and easily disproved.
PolitiFact | Did Democrats reverse border wall position after Donald Trump was elected?
quote:
"Sen. Chuck Schumer, who you will be hearing from later tonight, has repeatedly supported a physical barrier in the past along with many other Democrats," Trump said Jan. 8 in his prime time address on the border wall. "They changed their mind only after I was elected president."
That’s a mischaracterization of the barrier that won Democratic support 13 years ago.
Just over half of Democrats in the Senate voted for the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which was signed into law by President George W. Bush, including then-Sens. Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton. Most Democrats in the House voted against it, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi.
The law authorized a fence along about 700 miles of the border between the U.S.-Mexico border. By 2015, U.S. Customs and Border Protection had constructed 654 miles of fencing, the Government Accountability Office reported.
The fence was different from the wall Trump promised to build on the campaign trail, which he said would be made of "hardened concrete" as tall as "95 stories" with a "very big, very beautiful door."
Trump derided the 2006 fence as too modest during the 2016 campaign he said it was "not a wall" but a "little fence" that could be scaled with a ladder.
"Now we got lucky because it was such a little wall, it was such a nothing wall, no, they couldn't get their environmental probably a snake was in the way or a toad," Trump said. (Actually, the project didn’t face environmental hurdles; we rated that part of the claim Mostly False.)
So what the Democrats voted for was much much smaller in size and extent, and has been in place for years. If it was the same thing why would Trump denigrate it and want to replace it.

And it has been Congress and the Courts and all the folk that quit working for him because he is simply a boor.

Even I've given up on it because it's so aggressively denied who wants to keep getting hit over the head about it. But his Kenyan grandmother clearly said she saw him when he was born there. All the rest is forgeries and deceptions.
